Mylotters from all around the world, may be some of them not proficiency with the english language. Will you try to understand the discussions mean and respond as you can, or you left the discussions and say "stupid question, what are you talking about?".

I'm aware that some of the users on mylot don't have the most experience with english so I always try to read a discussion carefully and IF I can gather what it's about I respond, even if it is difficult to decipher. Most of the time I can figure out what the other person is trying to say and if I'm still not sure I'll respond and ask if I've got the meaning right. Anytime that I really can't figure out I might decide not to respond but I NEVER leave thinking "stupid question", I leave thinking "stupid me for not understanding!"

I would never tell someone that they had a stupid discussion. I do try to understand what others are trying to say and get across when their english isn't the best. I do respond to these discussions and try my best to give a reply to what they are trying to convey.

If it's a discussion that either interests me or I know about then yes, I will try to understand it and I will respond.

Sometimes I don't understand a discussion the first time or the second time I read it, but I don't mind spending a bit more time on reading the discussion. If I spend a bit of time on it, I usually understand the meaning in the end. I don't give up just because I don't understand the discussion right away, I would rather spend some time on reading it than miss out on an interesting discussion. I would never call it a "stupid discussion". Maybe I don't understand it, but that doesn't make it a stupid discussion.

I certainly have no room to be critical. English is the only language I speak. IT would be incredibly arrogant for me to criticize someone who is using English as a second or third language just because I speak it well.
As I see it the more you participate reading and writing your English as a second or more language the better you will get at it and by taking part in your discussions perhaps in some small way I am helping you learn it.
