If I'm cold to the "bones" I like a cup of hot cinnamon tea or good ol hot chocolate with melted marshmallows, hummm that sounds good, but I bet my boys already got to the marshmallows so I may have to do without them, hehe

My favorite drink when it is cold is hot chocolate. It hits the spot and gives me a nice soothing warm feeling all over. Late last year, it was cold enough for chocolate, but lately it has been so hot, I am thinking of plugging up the fan again.

i dtrink a lot of coffee. In the wintertime there's no place I'd rather be than sitting in my favourite coffee shop, in the comfy overstuffed chair by the fireplace. I love it in there, and the coffee is absolutely and completely perfect. YUMMY!!!! I hate winter, but I love the coffee.

If I want to get warm, then my drinks of choice are always either coffee or hot chocolate/cocoa. I love both. Although most of the time, I drink both just because I want to have a cup.

Thanks :-) I do keep water holders by each furnace heater opening. It helps a lot! I've heard that too about stoves and stuff. I don't like keeping those space heaters on for that very reason. Although in this drafty ole house, I'm thinkin' I get extra air here and there anyways hahaha. (Especially since it seems every time I turn around one or the other dog wants out to do their bit.) Boy, it's freezin in here tonight! I've been just veg'ing out watching tv under my electric blanket. Be careful driving to work in all this snow, and stay warm my friend!!

I drink a whole lot of hot tea to help keep warm. When my fingers are especially cold, it's nice to hold a steaming cup of it between my hands. Sometimes I'll have a cup of hot coffee instead of the tea. In the winter and cold months, I almost never drink cold beverages since it always seems to make me feel colder. Never thought about apartments having uncontrollable heating. That sure would be hard to adjust to like that without having any control over comfort.

MMM...wish I could do the hot choc! I used to love that stuff (have a chocolate allergy...bummer!!) Hope you're having a good day too :-) I just heard on the news our area's supposed to go down to 7 tonight. I got one of those portable oil-filled heaters. Works real slick and seems to be a little easier on the electric bill. It looks like one of those old-fashioned radiators like they used to have, except it plugs into the electricity. The electric warms up the oil inside and it holds the heat and radiates it into the room. I have a large bedroom, about15 X25, and all it takes is about 15 minutes to heat it up, and it holds that temp for at least an hour. (I don't keep it running all the time or it gets too hot and dry lol) Stay warm!

You know you can put a jar or pot of water in the room so it doesn't be so dry. I thought about putting my oven on but I just heard on the news that you should keep you oven on because it will produce carbon monixide, I didn't know that untill i heard that on the news today, and they were saying don't let you space heaters run to much, because I guess that will produce that too!

Unfortunately I am not a coffee drinker and have never developed a taste for it. I usually drink hot tea. Sometimes decaf and sometimes regular. I have gotten into the habit of combining green tea with regular tea for the health benefits. So I wrap up in a blanket and sip hot tea while I read on cold winter nights.

We live in a old 30+ year old town home, so I know what you mean regarding not being able to control the heat. There are weather proofing materials that you can purchase from Home Depot or Lowe's in order to stay warm. However, to control the heat from getting in, I'm not sure about that. Like around windows you can apply some white adhesive in order to keep the heat in and the cold out.
Regarding a beverage, I drink herbal chamomile tea with either lemon or honey. I decided to participate in the fast my church is having right now and I am really enjoying it a tremendous healthier way of eating. I don't feel like a lot of the aches and pains that I have as I gave up coffee during this period of time. Plus I feel lighter and able to run with a lot more energy.

Hello Marcie, Hot cocoa on a cold winter day is always good. We have been having some atrocious weather up this way. We have a foot of snow on the ground. More snow on the way. Plus we have a cold artic blast coming with it being windy too. The high temp is supposed to be below zero. The low will be way below that. I am so ready for spring, and winter has barely started.

For me I'd like to drink a cup of unsweetened chocolate or chamomile tea to stay warm and at the same time savor the fragrance of the beverage. I can't drink coffee as I'm allergic to it, otherwise a cup of Arabica is certainly a sip of heaven!

Hello marciascott!
It's cold tonight... as usual. Right now, I am having a mug of hot milk. Usually, I would have a cup of hot chocolate or hot coffee though. But for tonight, I am having a mug of hot milk to keep me warm. At the same time, I feel relaxed. I need to sleep early tonight and I hope that this hot milk would help me get to sleep early.

To me, I like a tofu soup with peppers in it.
Soup contains many nutritions which are needed by our body, while pepper has s strong power to make our body feel warm. But it can only get when I am stay in home. So if in the work place, I will try to drink a cup of hot coffee or milk instead.
Suffering the cold in winter is not a easy job.
