First Of all I want to tell you about upgradation is the process of upgrading from older technology to new, More feature then older one, new looks then old one. It is not then you are buying same new thing for ur computer what you told in this discussion. I am using my PC form Last 7 years and I bought all the new parts then older which are not working. Like RAM, HDD, POWER SUPPLY but those are same configuration. But I have upgraded my os from 98 to XP many years before.

I newer upgrade until something crashes. My configuration is good enough, it was like that from the beginning, and my PC is 3 years old too. If not so, I would probably choose the option of purchasing a new one instead of upgrading all components.

The last update was nearly one year ago, some time in March. A lightning strike fried the motherboard through the telephone line. A replacement motherboard for the Athlon Sempron was no longer available, so I had to buy a new CPU (Athlon X2 64bit), motherboard (Elite), RAM (2Gb), and a power supply. There is a blessing to this. With the new components there is no detectable heat on the casing even after running the system non-stop for more than 6 days.
all the best,
rosdimy

It's been a few weeks since I last upgraded my computer. I added another internal hard drive. I presently have 512MB Ram but I can go up to a maximum of 1GB and this is my next upgrade task. Welcome to My Lot. Andrew

We just bought a new computer a few weeks ago. It has Vista on it. So far we really like it. I was doing a clean up on the old one and some things kept freezing it up. It also was running really loud. The new one is so quiet we have to keep checking to see if it's on lol.

My desktop has coupled with me for 6 years,
I've upgraded it with RAM,CD-ROM and HD.
RAM - It's Ok to run Win2K under 128M but not under WinXP.
CD-ROM - It's because of my need of watching film :-)
HD - because of track error on it and exchange one from the product factory, it cannot be called upgraded in a sence.

It's been 2 years since my last change. It's not an upgrade nor was it a downgrade. My graphic card fan melted and I was forced to install a CoolerMaster heat sink on it. The computer was slightly more than 2 years old at that time. But since then, I have no problem whatsoever with the computer. It's running perfectly fine, though a bit slow due to lack of RAM. I can't really run Adobe Photoshop CS4 without facing any slowdown issue.
