Well here in Minnesota today. I woke up to a mild temperature of -19 F with a windchill of -38F. Not too bad I guess considering it is only going to get colder later this week possibly. It will make it to a balmy -4F for a high temperature today. I started the car to make sure it was still alive. She purred to life easily. Now if I could do that in this artic air. Even the snow is frozen to the roads. We also have a "BLACK ICE" warning out due to the frigid air and the salt not melting the snow etc. It melts it but it freezes right away is what is known as black ice. So cold even my door was frozen shut this morning. It's bad when you need an ice scaper to get OUT of your house. Are you all warm and cozy today in your area? Or are you enjoying this artic blast as well? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I've been watching the news about the all the cold weather and winter storms and I'm glad we are not there, but it is supposed to get colder here over the course of the week. Stay warm, Grandpa Bob!!

It is 47 degrees here at my house. It was going to 45, but seems to have gone a little higher. And it might rise until this afternoon. But by Friday morning, it will be 13, and the windchill will be down into the single digits. It's going to be cold all this week. It's been in the low 20's every morning. That's cold for our region.

70 degrees is about what our heat is set on, too. But, this morning, my feet are cold! My husband has the gas logs on, so that's probably why the heat hasn't come on to keep the rooms as warm. The hall gets warm keeping the temperature there up, so the heat doesn't kick on as much as it normally would. But then, if I was up working, I'd be warm.

It has to be really bad when your door is frozen shut. I am surprised the car started in those temps.

Yeah the cars been good to me since I bought it new 5 years ago. But the battery is 5 years old as well and it needs replacing really soon. Getting an oil change and tire rotation this weekend I think. If so, I am getting a new battery installed as well I think. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I saw on the weather this morning about the very cold temps up your way. That black ice is really dangerous. I don't know what our low was here this morning but nothing anywhere close to what you have. We have a red flag warning today, it is very windy, low humidity and we need rain so badly so let's just hope no one starts a fire around here today. Keep warm and be careful if and or when you get out.

I am not going anywhere till I have to pick my wife up from work at 10 p.m. Buster isn't going for a walk other than out back all week due to this artic front as well. He loves hopping around the snow anyhow. But even in this cold, he does his bussiness then howls to be let in right away. Smart dog. I haven't even had a bonfire this winter yet for some reason. Too lazy I think. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Well Bob we finally have some cold weather here in NC, temps are in the 50's today and are supposed to be colder over the next couple of days, but still no snow, or ice. Maybe soon XXXING my fingers. I never feel like the germs are killed until we get a good snow. Maybe that is just wishful thinking on my part, because I do love snow so much. Send good thoughts my way for some of that beautiful white stuff! Hugs Marilyn

Bob you must remember it was in the upper 70's here at Christmas, I was so disappointed, it didn't seem like Christmas, wearing shorts, running the AC because the house was so hot from cooking. I am so ready for some winter!

Well except for our major storm here for about a week most of the time it has been a mild winter here Thank goodness. We here in Seattle have seen our share of Snow and Cold though this winter, and bad roads. But never anything too bad where you needed an Ice Scraper to be able to get out of your home though.

No real serious storms so to speak of really here. Not one that closes down the city anyhow. Lots of artic temps and snow but still decent for Minnesotans. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

It is minus 13 f here in Winnipeg, but with the wind chill, it is much colder. I was going out today for groceries, but I have to leave it until later. How much later, I do not know because now there is no grocery delivery. The wind chill is so bad, and I am not enjoying this weather one bit. We do not use salt, but we put sand on the road, but not on the side roads, and then the city trucks come and pile the snow and ice on front of our sidewalks. I do not know how long this weather is going to last, but since I cannot drive and my husband's hands are too crippled, we will soon have our remaining teeth fall out from scurvy pretty soon because we have run out of fruit and soon will be out of salad stuff and the only veggies we have are the frozen ones. Oh and we do have bread, meat, and cheese, but we need the fruit and veggies.

They used sand all day due to the frigid temps and air. Salt was not working at all this morniong/last night. Stay warm and thaw out the veggies pretending they're homegrown maybe? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I can do that, but I really have to get some salad stuff and we are out of pork. Mind you I do not like pork that much, but my husband does, so I am watching the little weather icon on my Firefox browser hoping it goes up to at least minus 7. It will be warm enough to go out without me stopping and suddenly turning into the Ice Queen.

I can stand the snow.....I can stand the wind.....but when it's this cold I really get tired of it in a hurry....can't wait to see the utility bill either! That will be a real treat!

It's fallen 8 degrees in the past hour--it's now 22! It's forecast to get near to zero later this week. I'm cozy in my house but I'm going to put in a sweater in just a minute! I have a garage for my car so it's well taken care of and last winter had no problem, ever, starting! I keep the house at 66 but it feels colder the more the outside temp dips. We're finally getting a little snow now and I hope it keeps up!

Before dad moved in I could handle the hopuse being kept at about 66 or so. But being his age and what not I keep it at 70 now. A little too warm for me. Especially if I have to go outside then back in. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

We are cold here in NC today, not as cold as you up there in Minnesota though. Temps are hovering at about 26 degrees today with a wind chill cooling it off to the low teens. It is supposed to colder tonight with a chance of snow but I am inside toasty warm at my computer next to the fireplace.

I'd go for a windchill in the low teens below zero right now. Luckily I don't have to go anywhere till tonight. That's the good thing about being my dads caregiver, I stay indoors all the time if I wish. I am next to the heat vents when on my puter. Toasty warm toes that way. The description of your weather makes mine feel like a balmy summer day. You have mentioned Minnesota several times. I actually have some relatives that live up there somewhere. Not that it really matters, it just comes to mind when I see your discussions.

Lot's of blankets and clothing. This is in an area that has no heat vents so it is a cold area to start with is another reason why it freezes like this so easily. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Right now in Southern Oregon we are unusually warm for this time of year. Usually it would be raining outside/or snowing right now, but we have a warm front over us for the entire week. Just fog in the morning, and then sunshine and highs in the 50's. Our overnight lows are in the high 20's to about 32. Sorry you are having it so cold where you are. It is bad when you have to scrap your door, lol. Stay in and stay warm Grandpa.

Howdy from Nebraska... we are soooo much warmer here today. Only -9 when took kids to school, with windchill of -25!!!! At least our temps are supposed to get above freezing (at 5 above) sometime today! Wind chill warnings abound here in our state also. I do not envy you the black ice warning. That stuff is treacherous. STAY WARM!!!

Goodness that is very cold today. I really do not know how you can stick that. Is it cold in doors with the heating on. It must take your heating to be set high to warm your house. The weather is a lot milder here. It is 7 degrees centigrade here and it feels more comfortable. I am even thinking of going out and tidting up my garden soon. I feel sorry for you having to use an ice scrapper to be able to get out of your house. I hate black ice. It is very dangerous and I hate driving in it. Be careful if you go out.
