i have a regular older cell phone where you call and text people and thats pretty much all, i mean you can get on the internet but i just choose not to get on the internet honestly, and i was just thinking and looking at other cell phones today and they are really getting complicated and harder to use these days it seems like, and i was just talking to another friend and they said that it was easier to them and i was just wondering about everyone else's opinion, do you think cell phones are too compicated these days? i would like to take this time to thank everyone for taking the time out of your day to come by and read and review my discussion and hopefully answering, and trying to help me, and i hope that you all have a great day and night tonight, thanks again for taking the time to stop by.

i agree with you, but as technology progresses things get more complicated, and for technology to progress, things must become more complicated. regarding to your statement, i think people should just buy what they NEED instead of buying all the things they want and just have money for. for example, ive known people that pay $250 and even more a month for phones for the internet and other things. its just uneccesary

yes, they are getting more and more complicated and i don't like them very much. maybe this is a reflection of my age but i really prefer cellphones that have the basic functions. like you, i just need one for communicating. if i need to take a picture i use a camera; if i need the internet i use a laptop; if i want to listen to music i use a player. unfortunately part of my work requires me to know how complicated phones work so i really have to make an effort to learn.

I agree with you for all those who are less technology saavy it is difficult to operate todays cell phone. A number of functions only children are better able to understand. May be this is what is known as generation gap. All the youngsters around me ask me to throw away my cell phone as it does not have the latest applications available in the recent cellophone but I feel it is better for me as most of the times I have no use for new things.

i only answer and call the phone, sending and receiving the message.Of course, when i feel boring,i will play the phone game.Except doing these,i will do nothing. So i think the cell phones are too complicated.my phone is also a regular older cell phone.

Hmm... well, there definitely are a lot more functions on cells these days. I think the manufacturers are just trying to go for the "all-in-one" kind of thing. That's why there's so many more options packed into one tiny little thing now. That doesn't necessarily make it bad, nor more difficult to use. I personally don't think they're that much different from the old ones. They faster and more reliable now than they were before, so that's definitely a plus. So I would have to say no, I don't think they're too complicated now.

oh yes... definitely... i don't like a complicated phone as well... i like mine simple and easy to use... as long as i can make and receive phone call and make and receive text messages, that is more than enough for me... anyway, that is the purpose of a cell phone, right??? :-) take care and have a nice day...

HI jhl,
I would say I need time to read, study and try the different steps before I will get used to a new phone!
You are correct, it is more getting complicated since a lot of features are added!

Its just the market.
The competition to sell more and more of these things is so great everybody is just thinking of more ways to make their product more attractive.
Just now there'll be a cellphone that's practically a computer.

As cell phones get more & more complicated, I do find them to be more & more user friendly... They're pretty much self-explanatory... I'm a big fan of simple phones myself & I found my blackberry to be pretty easy to use... I'm pretty sure there are much more complicated phones out there than blackberries but I don't think it would take me more than few hours at the most to figure them out...

Depends. There are obviously people who have problems with new phones or technical devices in general.
And I, well, I use my 1 or 2 years old phone and I am just fine. Ok, it can play games, get on the internet, etc but I really just use it to call people/receive calls or send/receive a SMS.
The only features I use are probably the camera (which I use to take pictures or little video clips) and perhaps the ability to play some games. But the only game I really would need on my phone would be Tetris. Its still as much fun as it used to be when I was 6 years old, hehe :)

Phone are getting to high tech for me. I tried using my friends Iphone and blackberry and had no idea what to do. I use the old fashion flip phone because all I use it for is calling and receiving. I dont spend all my time on my phone texting etc. My cousin texts 24/7 non stop never ending I mean the only way to stop is to take it away from her. I just use the phone for what phones were meant for.

I like the new phones but i agree they are too complicated especially the Instinc touch phone...I still cant figure out where my inbox is. The companies try and add internet on the phones to it convenient to us but even more so for in the cellular companies because we use it so easily and it cost so much money but we only know that once we get our bill in the mail.

The more complicated it is the more I like it! I just love to work things out myself and i usually throw the instruction booklet in the box and into my book shelve (i store that kind of stuff there). I figure everything out and it is just so much fun doing that! I love mobile phone's with lots of games and other options and ofcourse also a CAMERA! Rightnow i have a 5.2 megapixel camera! That's pretty sweet for the size it is and i think my next phone is going to be even more complicated and have an even better camera! So yeah, i love phones with lots of functions and stuff. There is just ONE thing i hate about the new phones! THEY DONT HAVE SNAKE 2 (nokia phone's) I played snake 3d and it truyly SUCKS! The response of the game is lame and slow and it's just stupid! The phone just can't handle the graphics of the game!

True.
People are amazed on how many things they could do with their phones but in the end, they don't actually use it there because the service is too expensive anyways.
Plus, the main reason why we have phones is for communicating alone, so why should you need to have all those specs, right?

I don't know if you'd call it complicated as much as just to, to much - as in over-kill! I mean, does anyone really need all that a cell phone offers/does? And if they do.. maybe they need therapy!

The latest nobile phones are getting loaded with lots of features where the basic features such as voice clarity is missing many latest mobiles do not have much voice clarity than old phone i have a old nokia mobile it is very tough and even if i smash it towards the wall it will not break but now the latest mobiles are very delicate and get damaged with a small jerk this is very sad.
