Dang, I swore I was NOT going to start a discussion about this...

But I can't help it!!!! Yesterday at work, I went to pick up a binder and my hand slipped and my finger ran down the side of the binder - the side that opens, you know, the sharp plastic edge the normally doesn't bother you unless you slide your finger down it... So, now I have a "plastic binder edge" cut, which is kinda like a paper cut, but it's a bit thinker. And guess where this stupid cut is???? On the tip of my index finger. And what finger do you tend to use a lot when you're typing??? This same finger!! This hurts!!!!!! And when I click on my mouse - which I do like all day long - it re-opens the cut up. OK, let's be for real here, this is just a little cut, like a paper cut. But dang does it HURT!!!! I wish I could type without this finger, but I guess I'll just have to live with the pain for a bit longer (I have plenty of friends discussions to responde to!).

Well I guess you have to bypass the trip to Atlantic city this weekend. You need your fingers to roll the dice. heehee Have you thought about putting a bandage on your finger that way you have some padding on it and if it breaks open then you will not bleed on your discussions. I sure hate to see blood on the discussions here. heehee

Ya know what? It really didn't bleed a whole lot, it just hurt like the dickens!!! Since I had gone away (not to A/C unfortunately) this weekend I wasn't typing a whole lot and it's feeling MUCH better!!! But, if we had gone to A/C then I think that winning a lot of money would have made me forget about the pain - for a while :)

So no gambling this weekend. I had the baby shower for my son's girlfriend and my grand son to be. It was so much work and so much fun. I am so looking forward to becoming a Granny. I will love this baby with all of my heart.

ouch reiny, I know that hurts. Get you some of that liquid bandage stuff. Liquid bandaide. It works. It will close the slit. Also some superglue will do the same thing. Just a small amount will do the trick and will allow it to heal too. Make sure you cleanse it and put anticeptic on it first and let it dry then put which ever one on it that you have and wala you can type again.

Nah, I'm not realy big about putting chemicals on my skin, let alone directly into a cut. I actually used a natural healing agent on it and it's much better - well, not tying this weekend helped too!

It was a tip I read once somewhere a long time ago. As long as you clean the cut first.

Is it really safe to use super glue like that?

Ouch!!! That hurt just reading about it, reinydawn. You could try doing what I used to love to do as a kid..... you could put a bandaid on the finger so tight that the end of your finger goes numb. Then maybe it wouldn't hurt so bad to type.

hahahahahah - That almost sounds like a good idea, but if my finger went numb then I wouldn't hit the right keys and it'd be such a mess for you all to read... Taking a break this weekend from the computer helped out a bit :)

Oh I feel the pain just reading about it. It seems like any cut on the fingers are always on the ones we use the most and don't realize it until it is cut. It is weird too how a little cut like that can hurt so badly.

Oh, this is like such a stupid little cut and my finger feels like it's swollen to the size of a baseball bat! AND IT HURTS!!!! Almost every key I hit is killin' me... I wish my nails were longer so I could type with them, but unfortunately I need to use my fingertips.... It should be ok tomorrow because I have some ointment that really heals it quickly. (and I wont be around over the weeknd to type because I'll be at our cousins house "socializing").

OUCH! I bet that does hurt. I hate it when I get cuts on my hands. It takes forever for them to heal because I am always breaking the cuts back open. I hope that it heals quickly and does not cause you too much more pain.

I'll put some tea-tree oil based ointment on it tonight and it'll feel much better in the morning. I shoulda done that last night but I was too tired when I got in bed and thought about it.

Yea it's crazy how those little things can hurt soo bad! Especially when you use that part of your body. Crazy how that kinda thing doesn't happen anywhere else on your body. I walked in my little borhters room the other night and jack*ss was on and they were doing this on purpose. It almost made me sick, they had about fifteen or twenty on their bodies. Aiming for places like between their fingers and toes and fingertips. I don't know how they could get anything done after all that. I'm like you I like the tea tree oil myself. It's good stuff and whenever I use it, it seems to open up my sinuses as well.

Tea Tree oil is AWESOME! It's in nearly every cleaning product and personal care product I use. It does help heal quickly, and prevents scarring too. I have never watched that show, but I totally understand how you feel. I don't need to purposefully inflict pain on myself, I do that by accident enough it seems!

OUCH! I hope that it heals fast, tea tree oil will definitely help! Isn't weird how some of the smaller cuts can hurt so bad? I know I hate it when I'm filing things and get a paper cut!

It's bad too when you are licking an envelope and get a paper cut on your lip. I hate that!

LOL you poor thing. People might laugh about you whining about a papercut or sorry a "plastic binder edge" cut but man, they hurt! I feel for ya, but can only suggest you put a plaster over it to protect it whilst you're on the keyboard or just stay away from a keyboard until the wound has healed.

Oh I know what that is like. I'm always handling my kids binder for school, and you would think that they would get a cut, but nope its good ole mom. LOL. they do hurt really bad. It seems like they never stop bleeding and never stop throbbing. I've had quite a few paper cuts, the worst one I got was under my nail. oh thats the worst.

I seem to be a clutz around the office, I got a paper cut on the side of my knuckle the other day. Every time I moved my finger I could feel it. I think I need to wear gloves at work! Or we need to get serious about going paperless!

ouchy -our hands are overworked so its hard to get it injured. im also careful in the kitchen but sometimes we cant help it. the other day i was washing the dishes and i was picking up the spoon beside the knife w/ the blade facing my hands and wheew i got a slit. better take extra care. the sad thing is they also take a while to heal coz we cant wait for it to heal coz we cant accomplish anything.

Since we were gone this weekend I wasn't typing and the finger's pretty much healed. At least it's not hurting any more!
