In the news recently there have been a lot of acts of cruelty to animals. Recently a full grown German Shepherd was tossed out of a moving car on a major highway. The car behind stopped to assist the dog, but the dog had been killed by the impact of the road. It makes me so sad that people can be so cruel to these poor animals. Then people who are leaving their animals out in this freezing weather without shelter. Thankfully humane control have been going around to find animals who have been neglected by their owners, and taking them to safety. Our weather here right now is in the single digits, and with the windchill it is well below zero. No animal should be out in that. Then to find these poor dogs and cats without any shelter, food, or water, is just ridiculous. It is such ashame that people are neglecting their pets that way. Has your town been experiencing acts of cruelty like this? What are your thoughts on these situations? Please feel free to share any thoughts.

Oh my god! This is unbelievable! I can believe that some people can even think of committing such acts against animals. It breaks my heart every time I hear of these types of stories about animal cruelty! It's true that at times, I might fight my dog a little annoying, but I could even hit her out of anger. I have a hard time even yelling, or talking loudly at her.

My thought is, these cruel monsters will get whats coming to them.
I beleive it is possible these monsters will come back as animals in a next life. And they can feel it for themselves, how much it hurts to be neglected like that.
I am thankful that I have not heard of this kind of behavior here in Berlin.
These things make me feel sick.
Take care.

grrrrrrrrrrrrr..............
Some people shouldn't be allowed to have animals.
Some people shouldn't be allowed to have children.
People ought to be prosecuted and prevented from having any more pets after something like this!

I hate hearing about this kind of thing. If your not going to take care of your pet, why get one? I think that it is irresponsible to not spay or neuter because of this. There are too many animals out there for the shelters to take in for long, so these animals either get abandoned or worse. I think that people need to take better care of their animals and I think that there should be strict punishment in dealing with cases of animal abuse.

I am sorry to heard about this. Some people have pets are just for fun and don't think of take care of them. "Oh! The puppy is so cute. I want it to be my pet, Dad." Qute or lovely is not the reason to be the pet. People should think about their siutation and living condition is siutable for them before they have pets. Moreover, they need to spend time for the pets and take care of them. We should "LOVE" the pets start from people have this and keep it forever. HaPpY MyLoTtInG!

Hi there!
That's really cruel. I believe in Karma and it will somehow go back to them. I am against animal cruelty and sad to say, here in our place, the animal rights isn't much prioritized. There are selfless animal rights activists but I must admit that their means are very limited that's why they cannot do much about it. Here in our place there are some people who even kill dogs and eat them. Usually drunks. I hope that the government can implement their laws about animals.

It really is sad to see and hear about things like this. I don't understand why anyone would even get a pet just to be cruel and mean to it, much less just tossing them out like garbage. Any time my family and I have had a pet it's been a part of our family, not just some animal that happens to be here. It really saddens me to see all the suffering dogs and cats out there and I would take them all in if I could. People should be screened before being allowed to own an animal. thanks for posting and God bless

I have not heard of anything like that in my particular town. However, I did hear on the news the other day that alot of pets are being left behind in homes that are foreclosed. I think all animal cruelty is horrible! Doesn't make any sense...drive them to a shelter!!!

I just hate to hear such stories. Last fall we also had a german shepherd in the area abused by their owners. Unfortunately they were not able to save the poor dog. I've also been trying for weeks now to get animal control to help me with the stray cat population here. No luck so far. So, I put out food, water and warm blankets on my patio furniture for them to sleep in. I'll be moving soon, and I guess whoever buys my place will be stuck with dealing with them since I can't get help from animal control.

Nice to see people talking cruelty to animals in this forum.
But why does everyone assume that animals constitute only cats & dogs. My way of looking at it is: "if one is a no vegetarian , he/she is stil cruel to animals even they love their pets.
In many slaughter houses, animals are killed b dipping them into a hot water tank, other palces animals are hit on the head with a heavy hammer, while animals are being slaughtered, other animals are in the same room, watching all this happen.
Your take on This.

The people of my area has made a society for this and small contribution is collected from every member of this society.Whenever the society finds stray dogs, cats or cows ,they are sent to animal care centers by the staff of this society. The pets who have become very old or the pets who are deserted by their owners are also being taken care of.In this manner we have tried to fight with the menace of stray animals as well as taking care of their food, shelter and other necessities.

In my country, we do have several similar accidents that happened to these poor animals. The most schocking part is that people who have done these miserable acts have gone out of it with a mimnial fine! Nothing is being done by authorities to safeguard these helpless animals. It's really absurd to hear that just because these animals do not have a voice or a vote, they remain invisible to those people in power! If there are persons who are not able to treat animals with respect, I leave it to your imagination on how do they treat other human beings like them.
