Will you pick up an unknown call?

Suppose there is an unknown call to you, will you pick up your phone? If it's in my city, perhaps I will pick it up. However, if it is from other cities, then usually I won't pick up my phone. As most of my relatives and friends live here. It doesn't make a sense that I will have a call from another province. I found lately there are many selling and cheating calls, this is why I don't want to pick up an unknown call.

Usually I do not pick it up while I keep my cellphone work every minutes, especially in the evening.
I agree both sides, everyday I can get some phones which only sound one or two seconds, obviously this is a phone harassment and if you call back, you will find your phone charges just like the water flow, so it is unpossible to make me pick this phone up, except the length of sound time, a strange phone number is also a obvious evidence to judge this fraud. In other side, I keep my phone alive every day and every minutes, when somebody call you deep in the night, there must be some matters of urgency, he or she calls you for the sake of trust and help. so what do you think?

this is very true. these emergency calls usually come in as an unknown call. this is the reason why i do accept these unknown calls until this day.
now that text messages are available, i wish to state here that it is better that they send a text message first before making the call. this way, the person receiving the call will not be wary about receiving it.

To many sales and scam calls out there. It is a waste of time on my part to deal with them.
I started screening calls with the invention of the answering machine, anyone who knew me knew they were going to have to give their name to the answering machine, I would hear it and pick up if I were home.
The thing is, I would not want strangers walking into my home, or walking into my life at any time they wish, and calls from those I do not know heck even calls from those I do know, is allowing others to just bardge into my life on their time table, it is why I do not mind leaving a message.
I have no problem with people that screen the calls I make to them, because I don't talk to anyone unless I choose to, if the call comes in as unknown or restricted, I don't answer it.

It's not so much about being careful as it is that I do not like talking on the phone, and I do not like the idea tha someone can just bust into my day whenever they feel like it, especially sales calls.
So I don't answer numbers I don't know and if they don't leave a message I don't care enough to have to find out who they are. I don't answer restricted or unavailable numbes for the same reason. I know some people who always have to know who is calling, I don't.
And LOL I don't answer the door if the bell rings and it is not someone I have been expecting.
Again I don't worry about who is there, I just don't let people rudely intrude on my time and in my life.

As far as possible I try not to answer unknown callers. They might be people from the credit card company who are after my debts. Don't get me wrong I am a good paymaster but wouldn't like to be called when my time is not up yet to settle my debts. They have to be patient and not anxious to get their commissions after getting my payment. I don't like the idea of people pestering me to pay up as if there is no tomorrow. I want to be in control of my own funds and pay when it is due and not reminding me every now and then. So it is better not to answer unknown callers for it might increase your blood pressure.

Paying in advance? You are losing on the interest and you might as well gain some interest in the bank rather than paying in advance. Why make the debt collector smile and let them earn extra interest? Let them sweat a bit to get your money!!

On 99 out of 100 times i will not pick up any unknown call.
If the call repeatedly comes... that remaining one percent will come to force, and so i will attend the call.. but with all cautions..
Take care friend and have a good time.

Not that much active,i will be but will be hanging here with the sole aim of not losing the contact and friendship of good friends like you.
If i am here for earning,..i should have long gone.. because my three months earning here comes around to a paltry 2.50 dollars.
Take care friend, and have a good day.

Yup, i'll pick the call no matter who and where it from. I'm doing marketing job. So usually will receive many call from oversea and local. Sometimes the caller's number was not shown on my phone. I have to pick it up also. If i don't, I may lose a potential customer.
I do receive few calls saying that i won a jackpot from who and who. Then ask me to debit some amount of money in order to get the prize. I know its scam. I will not entertain long for such call. Don't interest from other you don't know. Its very dangerous.
Happy MyLotting!!!

When the phone rings it is only right for us to answer. We are not always sure the call is urgent for you or the caller. If you are sure the call is just a cheating calls it is very easy to say goodbye you've got the wrong number. How will you know it is from unknown if you will not pick it up and answer.

Well untill a few years back I never used to answer any local or international calls which appeared to be from cities unfamiliar ot me.I also have a good memery and could remember the phone no:s of all close relatives and friends. But now with the advent of the mobile and private telephone companies I have to answer all the calls that come to me because most of them are unfamilar but from mt own kit and kin.But If the call appears to be from a stranger then I immediately switch off my phone....

I am the same way. If it is a local call, I answer it, figuring it's either a wrong number or someone I know calling from somewhere out of the ordinary. Otherwise, I let them leave a voice mail and call back if it is someone I need or want to talk to.
Lately I've been getting calls that pop up on my caller ID as Unknown and they only let it ring twice before hanging up. By the time I figure out that it's a call and not a text message buzzing in my pocket, they are already gone.
