Did your parents ever spank you when you were a child?

ha ha who has not know the feeling of the hand across the bottom;+ I know I had some spanking when younger;)+

My Dad used to light my behind up on a pretty regular basis. It is pretty funny now that I am 35 but back in the day, it wasn't so funny! :( I do think that spanking should be allowed by parents. I'm not saying that a parent should beat the living daylights out of their children but I do not see anything wrong with a good spanking when it is warranted. What does everyone else think?

yes i got spankings...pouts...but i deserved them...people need to understand spankings and beatings are NOT the same. I think I am a better person for it....I may have gotten some but not as many as the other kids in the family because i stayed out of trouble....geez ya think they would of learned...lol......looks to the bottom of this page "corpral punishment" don't think so.

They sure did spank and I swear they've used the belt on us before, but they deny that. I've gotten the wooden spoon before! --- --- --- "I certainly think Britney Spears is the devil. Yes, but not very many. I can count on one hand how many times. My parents did a combination of discipline methods. I have much respect for my parents and appreciate all they taught me! :-)

My brother and I were spanked when we misbehaved. I remember that it never physically hurt that badly, it always just made me feel bad that I disappointed my parents. So in that respect I think it worked, because I was less likely to misbehave again afterwards.

Yes, that was how my parents were brought up so they didnt know any better.. In to day's world not to many people spank and the ones who do will deny it. I dont think corpral punishment is the answer.

My kids would complain when I put my hand on their bottom,crying child abuse. I told them that they didn't even know what the word meant. I used to get paddled, and once had to wrap my arms around a tree while getting beat with a 2x4.

I got spanked alot when I was growing up. But, I don't want to do that with my daughter. I'm sure there are better ways to decpline your child than spanking them.

I was abused by my mother and taken away from her. The state threw me from home to home until they finally awarded me to my father. My father hit me ONCE on my leg. He later applogized. He never hit me again and I never gave him a reason to.

Yes, yes and more yes. Heck, even my first grade teacher got in the action by slapping my hands and my behind with a wooden paddle. With holes in it. Double ouch.

Yes, but not more than once or twice during my entire childhood. My parents would only spank me as an absolute last resort.

My parents never spanked me as a child, but an aunt that was babysitting me spanked me once and I remember being in shock because I wasn't used to being treated in that manner. My mother did, however, slap me across the face at the age of fifteen when I came home late one night. I guess I deserved it.

Yes, but I really didn't deserve it. Not because I wasn't naughty at all but because I was a very reasonable kid and words would have been more efficient. If they just explained to me what went wrong and why I was naughty I would have been much more responsive and understanding of the headache I cause for my parents. I know that you can't reason with many kids and a spank is the best option but I definitely wasn't like that.

I got spanked when I was little. And you know what, I turned out okay as an adult. I love my parents and I respect them.
