can you swallow pills

Im ok with swallowing them but my daughter is bad she has to crush them into tiny bits or she cant take them!

I have a rather hard time swallowing pills. I kind of have to think about what I'm doing so I can swallow it. Sometimes it just doesn't go down right and comes back up or it gets stuck and makes me choke. I hate swallowing pills. I need to take pills that are gel caps for them to work well. Otherwise it make take me one or two times to get a pill to go down.

I also have a hard time taking pills. I seem to do okay taking capsules though. Depending on the pill it can be dangerous to cut them. Many medications it changes the chemical composition of the pill and can lead to serious reactions. I've never tried crushing pills though. Sounds like a good idea for a few of mine.

my daughter is 15 and just recently started learning how to take pills. we practiced with tiny m&ms but what really changed her was when she was away at camp. she had a major reaction to some bug bites and they forced her to swallow it and now she can swallow most small pills.

I used to have a hard time swallowing pills as well. But eventually I was to force myself to swallow my first one and now I can without problem.

I can swallow pills easily. That's good because I take 7 pills in the morning and three at night, plus once a week I take one pill extra.

I take daily meds so I've gotten rather used to swallowing pills. Like others have said, I do a lot better with the coated ones -- even if they are larger capsules or caplets, they still go down easier if they're coated. I have this one pill I take daily that is tiny and uncoated and I'll be darned if THAT isn't the one that'll get stuck in the back of my throat! This will seem strange but I've noticed if I swallow that problem pill with room temperature water, it goes down easily. If I try to take it with cold water or any cold beverage, that is when it gets stuck. I'm not sure if there is any basis for this but it happens consistently. Just thought I'd mention on the off-chance that it makes a difference for someone else too :)

I have a hard time swallowing pills too. I have to take pills everyday and you would think I'd be use to it. but i'm not. I just don't like it. I have to have a lot of liquids to make it go down. My husband and my son can take a pill no problem. They can take a pill without anything to drink. that just makes me cringe when I see them do that LOL. I have to try to take them whole cause if I crush them, the powder will make me gag worse.

I can swallow a few pills at one time. Actually i don't like to eat pills also. Bitter and hard. Why i choose to swallow few pills in one time. Because I don't like the taste of the pill. I rather taste the pill one shot than taking it one by one. Maybe you can try one time swallow fews pills. Then it wil make it easier to swallow it because you have experience. Happy Mylotting!!!

I sometimes have a little trouble if the pill is large and uncoated. They tend to want to stick in your throat. Yuck, just thinking about it I can feel it in my throat. Most pills are coated now, so that is rarely a problem. My mother had trouble with pills no matter how small they were. She used to grind them and mix them with a little apple sauce. Immediately upon finishing the apple sauce, she'd drink a glass of juice. That would get the pill down AND get rid of that nasty taste in her mouth.

yes i can. i can swallow 5 pills at the same time. im good at it. when i was young i would crash the pill but i realized the more i get the taste of the bitter pill. so had to do it.

I got over it. I just figure that alot of food that I swallow is larger than most little pills. Some of the larger pills I have to do one at a time though. Someone told me that a trick for swallowing pills is to drink whatever you are going to wash them down with a straw. I don't know if it actually works though. One thing i can't do is swallow pills dry. I have seen people do it and it just baffles me.
