Hi isabella123. I know how irritating and tiring it is to return a shopping cart back to it's place. But here in Denmark we have to put 20coins on it before we could use it. So i have to put back the shopping cart in order for me to get back my money. Such a good strategy of shopping stores so people will really be oblige to return the carts.

I've never heard of that for shopping carts only to borrow a stroller at the mall but I would definately do that if we had it but I live in the Suburbs so the traffic is pretty spread out between the other grocers.

well, not only is up to the patron to return the cart, it is up to the store to also clear the carts from the parking lot. most of the stores that i shop at are very good at clearing out the carts in the lot. they have someone whose job is it just to do that.

That's also true, someone else job you might think but it's just rude to leave it at the end of a parking space.

Oh I Know how you feel, that really makes me mad, I went parked my car once and when I came back from shopping there was a shopping trolly right by my car becuase the person couldn't be bothered to return it . . AARGH. I always return my trolley to the thing and even push them in so they are not in the car park, I don't tend to just dump it I do try and put it back properly. People can be very lazy and inconsiderate!!!

I do not like seeing people walking down the street with shopping carts because that adds up and what if they start raising my prices at the grocery store. I also think it looks really lazy and my god, I remember when I was 16 years old living in CT I worked at a grocery store and bought my groceries and never had my dad pick me up, I hauled them up the steep hill to my house and came back for the others. I don't know if this makes sense but it doesn't bother me that the local bum has one because man that guy is always away working early in the morning to the late afternoon picking up cans. If there is a shopping cart in the parking spot I do get ticked and will just park and move it then take my spot. We have a Walmart (super Walmart) over the state line that always has tons of shopping carts taking up parking spots and I don't get why they cant have someone cleaning them up just like any other grocery store but I think after 8pm they just stop and its a very busy 24 hour Walmart.

Hi, so I am not the only one who hates these lazy good for nothing people who leave the shopping carts in the parking spaces.I make a point of announcing loudly how LAZY and disrespectful some people are when I collect their cart. The workers can't comment but I can so I do it.

It makes me mad too. I always put the shopping cart back, and it's usually not much trouble to do so.

LOL!!! This drives me insane too! I do always return my shopping cart, either to the drop points in the parking lot or to the front of the store, if there's nowhere else. I've had my car scratched up a few times by errant carts that people have just left behind and they've either been blown or pushed into my car. UGH!

The same thing just happened to me yesterday at the grocery! I was so mad because the cart was just in the right spot that I couldn't quite see it until I had already started to pull into the space! I always return my shopping cart before leaving. In fact, I usually try to park close to a cart return on purpose, so that it will be convenient for getting rid of my cart when I'm finished. It just seems rude to leave it sitting around. I think some people are just too lazy to walk to the nearest cart return.

I always return the cart when I use one which is rare since I mostly use the carry baskets. I return it to one of the cart places they have in the parking lot and I make sure it will not roll out of it when I leave. I to hate to pull into a parking spot only to find a cart in it especially when the the return place is two spots away. Some people are just so inconsiderate.

I try to put our cart in the cart carral after we're done with it. I worked for 7 years at a grocery store so I know about the cart thing. I always hated it when I had to walk all over the lot to get carts that were far away from the carral.

I have to say that I always do return my cart. I'm like you, I hate it when people don't return their carts. How hard can it be to walk a few steps more and return the cart? I think people have become so lazy now days and very disrespectful.

This drives me crazy too. My son works at Wal-Mart and that is his job to bring carts back to the store. He says that he hears the statement "I'm providing job security for you" all the time. He doesn't mind getting them from the buggy corrals which is what he is supposed to do. But no only is it lazy those things can do some major damage to a car when the wind catches them and sends them sailing into vehicles.

I understand how irritating that can be, which is why I return the cart at their rightful spot after I load my groceries in the car. Hope that will not happen again to you. good luck

When I go shopping I usually park next to a return area for the carts so that I can return it with no problems, even when I have one of my kids with me. But if it isn't possible to park next to one of these return areas and it's too bothersome to return it I will put it somewhere where it's at least out of the way. I've driven up to a few parking spaces before where it was empty, or so I thought, that is, until I see a shopping cart or carts in the way. It's very irritating to say the least.

I do always return mine... but I don't do it because of it being the "right" thing to do.. I do it because it pissses the person waiting for my parking spot off!

I always return my cart. Some people just leave them where they are. I would rather take the few extra steps and return it to the rack, than to think of the cart rolling in front of a moving car and causing an accident. Returning the cart is not very hard to do. I think the stores should put a dollar deposit on the carts, that way people will return them in order to get their dollars back.

Here in the UK most places you have to put a £1 coin in them and you can only get your coin back when you return the cart to where they are kept. That idea seems to work pretty good.

I usually always put it back in the cart tent or back up at the store entrance. If I'm really in a rush then I'll put it up on the curb.

To be perfectly honest I SOMETIMES do return the shopping carts. It usually depends if I am in a rush or not but when I do have the time I do it.I feel bad for the employees who have to go around fetching those darn shopping carts when it would be much easier for the customers who use them to place them back where they belong.
