I have made up a concoction of lemon juice, honey and hot water with a dash of cayenne.
This seems to work great.
Experiment with measurements so to get the taste that suits you.
Sometimes just taking a teaspoon of honey helps. Let it run down your throat if you can.
Buckleys cough syrup works really good. tastes terrible though.
Have you tried it?
I often take Neo Citrin, in bed before I go to sleep.
Then I pull the blankets up to my chin and stay there until morning.
No matter how hot I get, the blankets stay up to my chin.
Have you ever tried Neo Citrin?
SInce you break out in hives using cough syrups, the Buckleys and Neo Citrin may not agree with you too.
Hope the lemon juice and honey works. It is Good too!

hello sassygirlanne
make yourself a hot cup of tea, put some lemon and honey in it and sip on it as hot as you can stand it. the lemon will soothe your throat and the lemon juice has vitamin c in it. i sure hope that you'll try the tea for your cough and i hope that you get to feeling better.
take care and have a beautiful evening.

The best thing to have to avoid a big cough is warm milk mixed with honey! It might taste not too good but it gives the right effect!
My family doctor accepts natural medicine and is full of ideas to give me when I am sick.
If your feel that cough is just about to start, drink or rinse your throat with fresh beats juice. I have an experience on this - it works!

Maybe try steam bath to help loosen things up. boil water and cover your head with a towel and cover it over the steam and breath in deeply. Also lemon juice and honey mixed together and added to boiling water helps some people. My sister can't take cough syrup and she like herbal teas. Hope you feel better soon.
