I usually like to eat fried foods but since I want to eat healthy I am thinking of baking or grilling it. I have tried grilling food and eat it with appetite but since its too cold outside I am thinking of either grilling or baking it in oven. So which do you prefer baking or grilling?

Ok well in the summer I am ALWAYS grilling, I love the taste it gives the food and it is also a healthy way to eat the foods we love. You are right though at this time of year it is too cold to be standing outside grilling and my family too still wants to eat healthy. So I do bake my food in the winter however i use a rack that came in my roasting pan, and place it over top of a cassorole dish that I own fill the dish with some water, and bake it like this. i find the food tasted better and is much healthier then normal baked foods because being on a rack it allows all the greese to drain from the food into the cassorole dish of water ( I use water so the cassorole dish does not get greese stuck to it, the water makes it much easier to clean!) I hope this helps it is my favorite way to cook my food when i cant be outside grilling.

I agree with Barbie. Grilling is healthier. When you bake something the greases go into the meat and keep it moist, but that is more fat in the meat.
I grill all year long. In the winter we bring the grill into the garage so when we want to grill it is all set for us.

It is good that grilling is really healthier. I am planning to grill much more than anything else. Sadly I can't keep it in ght garage it because our garage is too cold.

Grilling is better! But smoking is better than both - when you put the meat directly over the grill and the grease hits the coals - carcinogens can get into your food which is cancer causing - "so they say" But I like smoking better anyway because you really get the flavor of the wood that you are cooking with which make for a more unique dish tast wise.

Seems like that would be better. How would you capture the grease before it hits the coals? Maybe you could foil some kind of way.

Yes, it is but it takes more time to smoke food. What if there is no grease, would there still be carcnogens? I just wonder.;-)

well they are both better than frying that's for sure. i'd think about the same since it depends what you put on it, you don't need butter for either. but grilling the fat can drain off while it cooks right. also for baking you might have to put something so it doesn't stick which will add extra fat

If you cant grill outside they make pans for the oven with a rack so that the fat can drip down in the pan while baking,it not griling outside, but you are not getting all that fat.

I enjoy baking as well as grilling. I like grilling especially during the summer months. I do believe that baking might be healthier. I think that too much grilled or barbecued foods might not be good for us health wise.
Of course it is nice to have some hamburgers or chicken on the grill from time to time. Hot dogs are my personal favorite.
I have a little grill in my house which is used once in a while and is of course very much different than a propane or charcoal grill but it has a taste all of its own. Take care hibiscus.

As they have said you can't drain the fats when you bake making it not really healthier than grilling. Whe you grill food you don't need to put oil or anything like that and oil will be drained but I think when you think of that as not healthy it is because you tend to burn it which makes it not really that healthy if done all the time so the key to minimize that is moderation. We should be able to grill it not too burnt out so as to protect ourselves from unhealthy reasons. Thanks bamakelly.;-)

I always like to bake in the oven.
Makes me feel that's healthier.
Grilling, it burns the meat, or whatever you grill, and there are opinions about getting cancer from the burned things.
I don't know how much they are right, hope not really.
In summer time we use to grill a lot.Outseide, on the BBQ.But winter, and it's soooo long, I bake almost everything.
Baking, makes also the house smelling so good, and everyone is hungry only from the smell. It's such a pleasure seeing all of them, coming out from where they are, guided by the smell, just like in the cartoons.

I think baking is healthier since the heat is controlled when you do this. The juice drips on the sheet and not on the fire therefore it wont create oxides. The food also don't turn blackish like when you grill so it is healthier and a lot better.
