A Year Without Music or Movies? Hmmm

We all love our entertainment right? Oh boy, what would I do without my computer? Oh yeah, this discussion is about music and movies. When I was younger, I listened to all types of music, but mostly R&B and Old School, but as I got older, like now, I don't listen to music everyday like I use to, but when I do, I break out with some solid Gospel. Mainly coz it's positive and it helps me clear my head by putting down some serious relaxation on this thang we call "brain." And movies, well I'm a big fan of drama movies, some actions, good old horror, and OH I can't leave out Comedy. Did I mention I love to joke and laugh? (lame jokes). Comedy is off the chain! OK all that sounds good, now which one could you let go for a whole year straight without cheating. What if you had NO choice? Well for me, I was thinking maybe I could be my own music and sing to myself everytime I want to hear some music. Oh CRAP! I rather listen to a beat up train all night. OK it's settled. Bye-bye music, I can go a year without music, but gotta have my movies. What about you? Which would you give up for a year?

Oh wow, now that is a difficult one to answer. I love both my music and my movies. Hmmmm if it was forced upon me, then I would have to say give up the music and learn to watch musical movies. *LOL* Yeah, that is kinda cheating.

I prefer books over movies anyways so I'd say that I'd rather go a year without movies. Music really gets me moving and inspired (depending upon the lyrics of course) so I couldn't last a whold year without it, I can barely go a week.

well i can't say that i'm going to give up something for a year, to stop something like music you should be a courageous person to take such a decision but anyway i think that your will won't resist for more than one month...

I had no trouble at all answering this one. I do love a good movie but am so busy with other things that it is very rare that I find time to sit and watch one. In fact, I'm thinking that it has been nearly a year since I sat and watched a movie begining to end. Music...now you cant take away my music. It is in the background of pretty much all that I do. I love music and can't imagine even going a few days without it. If I have the urge to watch a movie...i'll just go knock on your door ..ok?

I don't think I could go a year without music, music is my passion, without it I would go nuts, I play guitar and sing all the time, and I love listening to my Gospel cd's. Now movies, I could probably go a year without movies, I like watching movies but I only watch them once in awhile, it has to be something I really like for me to watch it.

Hey miracle! Ok girlfriend! I will take the challenge! But, I am not a movie person at all! I would much rather give up movies in a NY second then give up my music! No way could I live without music! As they say "music soothes the savage beast"! And you do not want me to be savage! When I am really stressed and upset or want to unwind, gotta have my music! I am not "quiet" type music person either! I like music that is loud and moves! Give me Beyonce, Ne-Yo, Ashanti, to just name a few and "it's on a poppin'" as my boyfriend says! We have the house rockin'! So that's my final answer! Goodbye movies!

I think if we're talking about pre-recorded movies or music I would pick if I had to choose to not hear music for a year. I never listen to recorded music (well, hardly ever). I'm much more likely to watch a movie. The only time it would be hard for me not to listen to music for a year is during Christmas because of the carols. However, if we are talking about live music versus movies in the theater I will choose to go a year without watching a movie because one of the things I do that is very important to me is go to musical concerts and performances.

I am with you! Bye bye music, bring on the movies. I love all types of music, but not much for country. We have lots of music in the house. I have workout music that pumps me up and meditation music to calm and relax me. We have kids songs and teen muzac! too. My daughter is a percussionist and got a drum set for christmas. We are a musical family in a musical community. However I just LOVE movies. I do not watch television often but I watch movies at least three times a week. I am my own music too, cause I am like one of those people on American Idol that think I can sing but everyone else raises a brow when I saw that. LOL I love horror films and some dramas and the occasional comedy. I also love sitting with my children to a cute cartoon too. So I would have to pick keeping the movies and break out the pots and pans for music. LOL

I would gladly give up movies. I don't really watch that many and those I do watch are usually the very old ones from the silents to the pre-1950 dramas. I just don't like today's movies very much! On the other hand, I could not live without music. When you say give up music, you're cheating when you would make your own music! Give it up completely! I would not want to live without music. If you gave up music, that would mean you had to watch movies without a music track and how would that affect the movies? Next time you watch one, imagine it without any music in it. Most people take it for granted but it's a big part of a movie. Without music, my life would be very dark. I love my music! Jazz, Swing, Metal, Rock, old R&B (NOT the new stuff!) and Motown goodies--I wouldn't want to be without it!

Without a doubt - bye bye movies!!! I'm a music girl and I can't live without it! If I want a story line I will grab a book and catch the movies next year!!! I listen to music every chance I get - I have Rascal Flatts "These Days" playing right now and whatever song comes up next on my Itunes in shuffle mode will be playing soon! I can't imagine a day where I don't sing for at least an hour! Good luck if you ever decide to actually try!!

I would definitly give up movies. Music is much more versatile. You listen when you're driving, at work, at home, while falling asleep, anytime. But movies are more stagnant.... just read a book instead!

I would give up books!! Never my entertainment that's like movies and music.. I can't go without any!! I need both to survive.. You can take away my cellphone.. And my books, my magazines.. but never my music and movies.. I'm so sorry.. I just need to reply in this discussion because I think that it is impossible that one can do without music or movies.. for one, when you call people, there are times you will be put on hold.. and there will be music there, no? And in some buses.. there's movie previews right? So how can you do without any or both? You can't just get away with such media because this is the norm of the world.. This is how the world lives.. with movies and music.. :) But the thing about your sacrifice, that you say you can live without music.. I respect that.. I don't think anyone is able to go a year without music or movies..

i work as a musician so i might die and my family might die too without music for a year. i dont have music in my life as an entertainment only but i have it as my career and as a work. i can go without movie for a year but cant go without music. i can catch movies on dvd so i dont have to worry about that. when we work out of the country or out of town we really cant go to catch a movie for we are busy. so i can catch a movie on dvd even after a year but not with music.

When I was younger I was fond of watching any kind of movies(i don't care).Music? A little interest cause music can be heard anytime of the day, anywhere wherever you are, that's what thought when I was younger. Movies at those time for me was so seldom shown because we were living in a remote place. Now that I already gown up and a little younger (maybe) than you( hehehehe). My interest in movies are gone out. For me . I am willing to give up movies rather than music. Yes, even now as I write this I am listening my old kind of music (Jack Jones,Perry Como etc etc etc)You think I am older than you heheheh..cheer up..thanks nice topic

I can't live without hearing a single song for a day. I even listen to my favorite artists while working or even doing household chores. Music is really my passion. I'd rather listen a song than to watch tv or movies.
