They say a name is just a name.... do you feel that way.. I am referring to your first name or middle names... How did you get your name.. Do you like your name.. have you ever thought that your life would have been different if you first name was not what you were given?

I like my name, Amber. My parents couldn't decide between Beth or Amber, but I'm glad they chose Amber. My middle name is Myree, which is pronounced like Marie, only it is spelled Myree. That was the way my grandmother spelled her middle name, so that is why my parents spelled my middle name that way.

I've never really liked my name. Especially not my middle name. I was actually very embarassed of my middle name for most of my life, because it sounds like a boys name, although it's spelled different. But I've grown to accept my name, and I just don't think any other name would suit me well. The one thing I absolutely hated was my last name! Luckily I've been able to change that when I got married and I'm quite happy with my last name now. IF I ever get divorced, I'm keeping my married name.

I've always been proud of my family name, so when I was married, I continued to use it.

I feel my name is beautiful and wouldn't change it for anything in this world. It has given me an identity and brought me to where I am now. Maybe if I have been known with different name my life is not as good as now. I am really thankful to my parents for naming me my name.

I do like my name.....My pen name that is.....Jill...it was given to me by a friend and I like it better then my real name..which I won't tell anyone! LOL...not that it's bad because I really don't mind it either! I don't think my life would have been any different if my name was...but it's funny how you associate different people with their names and usually what they have fits them to a tee.

I didn't like it in 3rd grade, went by my middle name for a while. But my name is my identity, which is why I didn't change it when I got married. Got used to calling myself something, can't see calling myself something else!

Well I was named after two different people. For my first name I was named after one of my moms friends and my middle name is the name that me and all my cousins that are girls on my dads side have. It is my grandmothers name. I have never though about having a different first name and over the years have become pretty attached to the name that I have.

I am very happy with my name. My first name came from a friend of my mom's. She could not have a child so my let her name me. My second name is one that several women have, and it is simple. I like that one, too.

I've never liked my name, first OR middle! I was named after both of my grandmothers. Unfortunately, they both had EXTREMELY old-fashioned names! My sister, who was the first-born girl, should have gotten their names but noooooo! SHE got a really nice name... Susan Carol. My father's mother's name was Martha. Yuck! That's why I go by Marti. (My grandmother didn't even like it, apparently... she was called 'Maddy'!) My mother's mother's name was (shudder) Edna Ruth!!! Fortunately, I got her middle name as my middle name, not Edna!!! (At least it's something!) 'Martha' means 'Hard Worker'. I blame my life on my mother for naming me that. I've worked hard my entire life, not necessarily because I wanted to, but because I HAD to. Why couldn't I have been 'Susan'????

I am not fond of my name, but I do not have a problem with it. I have grown to just accept it as my name. I have wondered what it would be like to have a different name, how my personality may have developed if I had a more or less popular name and so on.

certainly i am, i am very proud of my name. my full name actually. even though i am a pure Filipino my name sounds very British. whenever i am applying for a job, the HR who interview me will ask if i am really a Filipino cause as they notice on my resume i am a Filipino but my name sounds very European. there is a town in U.K. known as Bristol (the stonehenge is near Bristol). anyway going back to my name, my first name was derived from the name of both my parents. it's a combination actually

hahaha nice question...well Its not that I dont like my name its just that you are proud sometime when somebody mention your name and someone is praising your name...My name was derived from my godmother.O ask my mother when I was little why my name was after my godmother. She's name is BLESSIE..and my mothers name is PRIMA...and as my name goes Donna Bles...sometimes people trie to poy BLESS as double S in My BLES but its not...the word donna derived from my mothers name which is PRIMA...and mine is DONNA...but Im not Primadonna or something...heheheh sometimes maybe....some calls me bles some DONNA BLES..and i hate it when they tend to shout my full name....DOnna is enough for me....

Rose will smell the same even if it is called by another name. But we associate certain qualities with names.Behind every persons name there is the psychological state of the parents who named the child.I love my name and have retained even my maiden name after marriage becos being the first born child they took lot of time to find me an apt name and its an uncommon one too.

"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet" unless you called it a skunk, in which case no one would try to smell it at all.

many cultures put a lot of stock into a name before they name their child feeling giving them a name is shaping their destiny, I don't particularly care about my name but then I do not think it has any bearing on what I did with my life. Except having an english name here in quebec can prevent you from getting the better paying jobs, but that is about it.

I guess I am okay with my name. I've had it for a whole whopin 30 years. I didn't like it (ROSE LYN--2 words) when I was a kid because there were a million Jennifers, Rachels, Lisas and I got stuck with a 90 year old woman's name. WOO HOO--lucky me. I asked my dad one time why he named me that. I explained that we have a Bonnie, Sandy, Toy (my mother's real name), and a Ruby, but why a "Rose". He said that he thought I was the prettiest baby he'd ever seen. I was little and pink and wrinkly when I was born so he called me his little pink rose. I guess it fit at the time, but I have seen future employers giggle because they actually thought by my name that I was older until they seen me. So, I guess it's alright. Just different. I know about 40 rose's now. Seems like when I was a kid there were a million every-other-name and I was the only one with mine. Now everyone has my name....If I could have been another one, I would have liked to be a Briget. Don't know why or even an Amber Dinese. Just random names that I liked when I was a kid.

your name is just that a name that your parents gave you. i don't think it has a thing to do with how your life turned out.
