For Christmas I got a digital photo frame fully loaded with Celtic women's cd. I love to have it on and see my kids and grandkids but sometimes the mixture of the music and the pictures makes me melancholy for my kid and grandkids. I don't know if it was set to different music if it would have the same effect but it makes me get teary everytime I have it on! Is there a certain type of music that makes you feel this way? Or a certain song?

I think music can inspire all types of emotion. That's probably why there's background music in movies and television shows. Music adds to the enjoyment of life.

There is one song that makes me want to cry. " I'll be seeing you." It is from WWII.Every time I hear it , I think of the G.I.s that didn't make it home.

I probably shouldn't be posting this on the internet, but...
I'm a serious rocker (metallica, AC/DC, etc.), but everytime Whitney Houston sings that damn 'I will always love you', even I get all teary eyed. It even makes me feel like I'm a softy, but I know I'm not.

Hi jillhill, my mother says that when I was a baby I used to laugh when there was happy music on the radio and that I used to cry when the music was sad. It is not so extreme these days, but I still have strong feelings for music and certain pieces of music not only make me cr, but can lift me up as if I was flying. A modern piece, which brings tears to my eyes in Queen's "Who Wants to Live Forever?" Much of Ennio Morricone's music is stirring especially the music from the film The Mission, which is very sad... Have a great week.Umart

There is some music that will make me tear up, though usually it is lyrics more that gets to me. It is more of what my mind puts to it that upsets me.

I'm not an easy person to make cry. Just not the tearing kind of woman. The original song, "Spanish Eyes" can put a big lump in my throat. Reminds me of my wonderful dad who I lost 20 years ago. He use to love the song as well. The few times I was able to listen to my dad play music with a local band, he did play it for me. It was so sweet.

Hello jillhill!
There are a lot of songs that really make me cry. There's Somewhere in Time and Moon River on top of my list. The song What Matters Most is another song that never fails to bring tears into my eyes. Some Christmas songs like I'll Be Home for Christmas and White Christmas also make me cry.

Hi,
The first and only time I was brought to tears by music was when I heard the theme 'The Breaking of the Fellowship' from The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. I have been a die hard fan of LOTR and everything related to it since then.
Take care

Yes, classical and traditional music when I listen to it seriously, I can hardly stop crying.Especially if the songs talk about sad stories. I still remember the traditional song that talks about a man who want to go away to find a new wife because his first wife passed away. He asked his child to let him go for a while to bring him a new mother. But the child tells his father to stay with him.

I'm a very emotional person and yes, there are a lot of songs that touch my heart and make me cry. Most of these songs bring back memory of past hurts and pains and lost happiness.

Right! That's why I believe the song "STrumming my pain with his fingers." Some lyricists captured people's lives so vividly that it's like they are telling your own story.

There are many songs that make me cry! It all depends on what they're similar with, what they remind me of. Lately the songs that made me cry quite a lot were movie soundtracks... They remind me of my dreams, my goals... the world and other stuff...
They're different for every person though, if you noticed. Some may not be touched at all by certain songs, but if they would hear that song for the first time playing in the background of a clip with whatever they care about the most, they would've felt it differently.
For me it's the soundtracks of Naruto that give me a special mood. Here are some if you want to hear them:

The last time I remember myself crying while listening to a music was when I was listening to a song BABALIK Ka Rin by Gary V. It's Filipino song about Filipino overseas worker that no matter how long you are away from Philippines, you will still go back to Philippines. I got emotional because I was away for a long time living in Ireland and when I heard the song I got emotional . huhuhu
