I live in SoCal, LA-Long Beach, California I'm not surprised at all that we're #21 at the fattest, but still surprised that we're not on the most fittest city. I guess you really can't be in two places at once, in this case, two categories in one. But trust me, there are a lot of physically fit people here in Southern California... just check out the beaches

I'm a born and raised Southern California girl.. and while we do have some very healthy cities, we also have some very non-healthy cities. Not everyone is a Baywatch babe here, that's for sure.

Interesting stuff. I live in Australia; it would be worth taking a look at our cities here and see how they stack up!

What's funny for me is that 6 months ago I live in one of the fittest cities(Milwaukee, WI) and have since moved back home to one of the fattest citiies(Chicago). Ahhhh, it's good to be home. I took a look at the article, but it wansn't really specific on what is used for their criteria on how they judged the fittest to the fattest. They laid out a couple of the criteria, but not much. That would be interesting to see.

I used to live in 4th fittest city and now live in the 18th fattest city. Haha. No wonder I gained a few pounds since coming to live here. I really wish I could go back to my previous city, because apparently I will be thinner and it really is a much better city. Sorry to all Buckeye fans. Lol. Thanks for posting.

Wow! I'm in one of the fattest cities in the states - I'm in number 2!! I can see why as there isn't a lot of focus on health around here. It's really disappointing as I'm overweight and trying to get rid of it. There isn't much here to help. Looks like Oklahoma needs to step it up a notch or two and quickly.

I didn't look at the link, but from your list, my state was not on it. I do think, that my state would probably rank one of the fattest. Now with the economy the way it is, people are not able to afford to eat healthy, and are grabbing what they can, which a lot of the times are fattening foods. I have noticed that since I have been unemployed, I have gained a little weight. I am not as active since I am home most of the day, I know that is no excuse for not exercising, but most days I am on my computer trying to find a job.

Coos Bay Oregon should be added to the top fat list. There are more women over weight here than any place on the planet that I have traveled. And the saddest thing is to see how fat their kids are. It borders on child abuse.
