When you were young, what did you want to be when you grow up? What kind of people did you admire? What are you now? What kind of person have you turned out to be? Are you happy with how you've turned out? Why or why not?

I wanted to be an author (a novel writer), and I've sort of followed that path. I'm not a fiction author, but I am a non-fiction author. One of these days, I might churn out a piece of fiction and try to get it published. Until then, I'm content where I am. Those that I admired when I was growing up were V.C. Andrews (she's still one of my favorites), Lousia May Allcott, Stephen King, and Dean Koontz... among many others.

I wanted to be like my mother, I wanted to be a lawyer, I wanted to be a teacher, I wanted to be a writer. But one thing I never wanted to be growing up was a Nurse....which so happens now I want to be one. But I still write so I can take on the roles of all of them and fulfill my needs. I am still on my way of finding happiness which is why I know for sure I am an author. It is our therapy that is affordable when you have no isurance. LOL

When I was young I wanted to be an astronaut. I admired my brothers and my mother who took care of me. The famous people I admired were the photographers from National Geographic magazine, men from the bible, and Cleopatra. Today I am a stay at home mother who has a certificate in Landscape Design and a college degree in Website Design. I turned out to be a Christian mom in hopes to raise my daughter in a Godly manner so that she can love like I do. I'm very humble with what I turned out to be even though reaching them stars was a cool idea. I might not have taken astrophysics but I enjoy seeing the planets and stars from my telescope and sharing my life adventures with people instead, those are my stars.

hehehe! I wanted to become a doctor, help other people. I turned out to become, a house wife and mother, after 9 years of marriage divorced. Took a course in wood, timer man (women).Worked finishing the wood work of new houses. Restoration of old houses. Worked in new houses putting in the wall paper, and painting doors en stuff.Had my own cafe in Belgium for two years. Went back to Holland and went to a chocolate factory. After that I went to BDF, Nivea, they put me be back to school and I became an official Machine operator, All round. That was the longest job I had. (There were also little jobs inbetween, worked for the post office, worked in a bakery, and had different paper routes.) I worked in Holland for 10 years, and went to Berlin, because they closed the company in Holland. Got a new contract here for one year, and after 6 months my back started on me again. Could not walk for a couple of months, so I was sick to much. Can't walk , can't work. And I had so much pain. So at the end of the year they did not give me a new contract. That is normal of course. Now 1 and a half year later I am still waiting what is going to happen. Operation or not? Hopefully one day I can go back to work. My back is worn out, hernia as well. So, no more heavy work for me. So, no I am not really happy about how my life turned out. But, I have learned to except it, after all everything has a reason. And I have learned a lot. Things can only get better, hahaha! Take care.

Heh, I wanted to be a doctor too, at one point. Wow, sounds like you have a lot of work experience and have neem to all over the world. I hope you recover from your back problems, my mom has severe back pain due to her job. It's been two years, and she's still not fully recovered.

I think the jury is still out on that one. I wanted to be a writer, and I have done that. I also wanted to be forever young, and I am still working on that one. Time may keep moving forward decade by decade, but I remain a child at heart.

Hi saffron Yeah it would be great to stay young forever and I am working hard on doing that. As far as writing goes. I started small with poetry. I've sold two short stories and have one novel in the works. That is the writing I do for pleasure. I also write for a few local companies doing the mundane stuff like employee handbooks, policy pamphlets and quarterly newsletters. I also write and sell articles online.

Haha, I still want to be young forever. =P There's just too much to accomplish in a finite lifetime. What kind of things did you write?

I always wanted to be a businessman. I am still a student but so far i am going on the right track. Doing my bachelors degree and i plan to do a job after my post graduate course for few years. And after collecting some capital i would start my own business and grow it up slowly. I have even thought of a business which would be very good in my country. I hope everything goes according to what i have planned.

I wanted to be an oceanographer for quite a bit, then a writer. I still want to write. Well I do write, just would like to get published some day. But even if I don't, as long as I continue to write, than I'm happy. Even if it's only for me.

When I was very young, I wanted to work with horses. I have loved horses all my life, but the opportunities just weren't there. Getting involved with horses was just too expensive. I still go riding sometimes, but I've never owned a horse. When I entered my teens, I got involved in music, and wanted to play guitar in a band, which eventually I did for a brief period. I've always written and I still do. The beauty of writing is that it lets you be whomever you want, through your characters. Mostly, yes I am happy with how I've turned out.
