Am I the only one??????

That is bothered by some of these flashing ads on mylot???? I mostly respond to my friends discussions thru my email. When I do have the time to hang out here and post, I am bothered by the many phony flashing ads. "I am the 99,999 visitor, click and see what I won" "Click here and claim your free laptop". I keep seeing these kinds of ads, and I really don't like them. I got a head ache from them the other night. The flashing ads can also be a danger to people who have seizure disorders. If others are bothered as much as I am, maybe we can let mylot know about it and maybe get them taken off. At least stop the flashing part of the ad. I don't hardly believe that there are still people who believe and fall for them ads anyway. How do you all feel about the ads, do they bother you too???? Thanks to everyone!!

they certainly do bother me and i especially hate the ones that make noises because if you dont know what it is, it scares you because you dont know where the noise is coming from. i especially hate the devil/angel one! creepy.

They are really annoying to me too. I don't mind some of them but some (like the one with the black background) makes my eyes hurt. I wish there was a way to block them or if the site could at least go with non-flashing ones. I also can't stand the talking ones...I have to keep my sound off so that I'm not stuck hearing it all the time. [b]~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG AND TRUST IN GOD**[/b]

I just learned a wondeful trick, woohoo. Hit the escape button on your keyboard and the flashing stops. That is such a relief, that flashing was really bothersome. Take care.

It's interesting that I should come across this discussion right now because, just a few minutes ago, I was thinking about how aggravating it was to have to stupid blinky thing on the top of my screen while I was trying to read and post. Then, they slow my computer down when I hit post response. That's SO annoying!

I just learned a good trick, hit the escape button on your keyboard, the flashing stops. I don't know if there is anything that we can do about the talking smileys except keep our sound down. Take care.

I keep seeing a huge person dieting. I hate it. It keeps flashing and the banner above keeps telling me Congratulations! You won. Sure I did. LOL Spam in the worst way.

Yes they bother me!! But I have a pop up blocker on so I dont' have that problem much anymore. People do fall for it which is sad. I too find it highly obnoxious and distracting when Im trying to read discussions.I am also light sensitive and it often severely messes with my eyes or even causes migraines on occasion.

Hi, Welcome to mylot, I learned a new trick today from a fellow mylotter. Push the escape button on your keyboard, that stops the flashing. I don't know if it works all the time, but it is working so far to stop the flash here on mylot. Thanks for stopping by.
