It doesn't always go hand in hand , I suppose. But for me I think it does. My anxiety causes me to stay inside (well that's more social anxiety). It keeps me from the life I want and that causes me to become depressed and very frustrated. But they both can cause you to become caught up in your own head/thoughts , and either one of them are fun to have. But the more isolated I become from the anxiety the more depressed I seem to be...

Yes I do think it goes hand in hand and that sometimes anxiety can make depression way worse. I know I have been through that before. Still have it some.

I don't have either of them so I really don't know, but I would say they don't they are completely two seperate things. I have a couple friends that have anxiety disorder, but neither of them have depression.

Yes, I do. If you're depressed, you tend to be anxious about a lot of things. If you're anxious, you get nervous about everything around you. That tends to make you depressed because of all the stress going on inside you coping.

Hi bamakelly,I'm no expert or anything but i do suffer from depression and have done for some time now,About eight or nine years.I didn't know there was a link between depression and anxiety,But now you mention it,Yes i do have really quite severe anxiety that goes hand in hand with my depression,The worse my depression currently is,The worse my anxiety level's get,So from my own personal opinion i would suggest that there is a link.

I don't think so. They are two totally different things. I know there are many people who probably suffer from both, but there are those that don't. I suffer from depression, been diagnossed with Major Clinical Depression, whatever that is. I have learned to control it pretty well. I do not however suffer from Anxiety attacks. I did when I was younger and at a bad place in life but at that time I did not suffer from depression. So in my experience, they do not go hand in hand.

I have been suffering from depression for years and take medication for it. I seldom have anxiety and probably because of the meds so I would have to say no for me but everyone is different.
