oh yes, a totally awesome book! I couldnt put it down, and then I just had to go and find his other books and read them too. You have to remember they are only fiction, but I think the Da Vinci Code has a lot of truth in it, but nobody wants to acknowledge it because it threatens their religious beliefs.

Maybe I shouldnt have used the word "threatening". Perhaps I should have said "challenging", because that is what I believe it does. It makes you think that perhaps there are other ways of looking at our religious history, that maybe its not good to just accept what other people say and write, and forming our own opinions is a valuable way to learn. Does anyone else agree with me here?

It was interesting and well written, but I don't agree with all of it. There is alot of theory and conjecture.

Yes ? Which points don't you agree with?

Ah, there lies the crux. Religion is based on faith and belief. So at least there is an alternate theory of what "supposedly" happened.

I rad it and absolutely loved it!!! However, if you get the book, you want to get the special illustrated edition. It was published with the pieces of art and places referenced in the book...this way you do not have to go running to the web to look at what the book is talking about. Really really good book. I just hope the movie stands up as well!

Do you see in the book any question being raised about genuineness or validity of certain religious believes ?

I think Josh McDowell is a great speaker and author also. His book Right/Wrong would be a good read also.

Finish it early. Break up readings may affect the pleasure of reading . You know that is the reason I cannot take up reading big volumes.

It was boring. Puzzle after puzzle and no character development. I expected a lot more. And its premise--that there is a big conspiracy to cover up that Jesus was married--is absurd. Marriage isn't bad, so why would they bother to cover up something like Jesus being married? (He probably wasn't, but that's technically an argument from silence)
• India
12 Nov 06
Marriage involves material pleasure and that can be interpreted against the Godlyness of Jesus . That may be the cause of the conspiracy. Thanks for your responses.

I never read the book. I was thinking about just watching the movie. Are they the same story line?

The story line is the same. But for technical differences there may come some deviations here and there.
