What is your favorite format? When I first started scrapbooking, 8 1/2" by 11" was the most popular. So, I have a number of scrapbooks that size. Or course, 12" x 12" is the most popular now. There are also 8" x 8" and 6" x 6". There was even 11" x 14" (that was the one I started for my daughter when she was born - my first one). So, what is your favorite size and why?

I usually do 12x12, since I like to do multi-photos on a layout and embellishments. I do 8x8 for specific events or trips. I also do 6x6 for my family for Christmas gifts. I started that 2 years ago, a way to share that year with them since I live 1600 miles away. They really like getting those instead of just pictures. My first scrapbook was 12x12, I also like all the paper that is available for that size layout.

When I started scrapbooking I only did 8 1/2 x 11. Now I'm kind of moving to 12x12. Also depends on the project. I did a 5x7 scrapbook of my grandma's 75th birthday party. She really loves it. I've started to get into 12x12 but I only have one of those and I really need to get working on it. So I'm still up in the air as to what my favorite size is. It may just depend on the project.

I agree with you. I started with the 8 1/2 x 11 too. And I really fought going to the 12 x 12, but you can't get away from it now. It does fit more photos, which is nice. I like to do smaller size ones for older people. It seems like they can handle it better. My mother-in-law travels with the scrapbook I did for her for the last family reunion - she says it's the perfect size at 8 x 8. She puts it out when she does book signings.

The 12x12 is my all time favorite because you can get so many pictures on a page especially if you use a cutting system to make them different shapes....though at christmas I did some 6x6 for gifts. I embellished the pages so all they had to do was put in their pictures....and they are smaller so easier to store and also display.

Yea, my 12 x 12's do take up a lot of room. But I like all the space too.

I don't do pages but I use scrapbooking papers in my crafting. I found a great deal on some papers but they had a grid on the back and I was paperfolding so I still have a lot of them left. Maybe one of these days I will get around to scrapping.

Yea, the grid on the back kind of takes away from the design when it's folded. That's too bad. But I bet you can use them on another project or cards if you don't use them for scrapping.

When I am working with a single picture I like working with the 8X11 size, because it is easier to work with the picture. When I have more than one, I like to use a bigger size because it gives me more room to work with. I can always lay an 8X11 on top of the bigger size...It adds to the photo :)
