Have you put your dog or pet to sleep? Do you agree with this process or do you think nature should take care of it?

I have never did that before, it is really a tough decision to do that to an animal.

I have had dogs put to sleep in the past. Unlike with people who are dying, dogs do not have an understanding of why they are suffering. They just suffer. I believe that the right thing to do is to end the dog's suffering. I don't agree with unnecessary euthanasia though. I believe if should only be used in cases where the dog will not recover. I also think it is wrong to put perfectly healthy dogs to sleep. A friend of mine recently told me about a boyfriend she had in high school. He had a family dog that he loved very much. Even though it was the family pet, the boy had most of the responsibility in caring for the dog. One day he got in trouble either for getting bad grades in school or staying out past his curfew... something like that, my friend didn't remember exactly what. But his mom punished him by taking the dog and having it euthanized. It was a perfectly healthy dog! She only killed the dog to punish her son! Also, there is a very bad pet overpopulation problem. Every year, millions of healthy dogs are killed just because there aren't enough homes. We don't need to be doing this! If just 70% of the population spayed and neutered their pets, then we would no longer have to put animals down due to overpopulation. So if your pets aren't spayed or neutered, get that done! If you can't afford it, there are plenty of low cost options available! Many low cost spay/neuter programs don't have any income requirements! So there are no excuses! Your pet can live up to 5 years longer if it's fixed. And spaying and neutering decreases the chances of your pets getting certain types of cancers and diseases. It also helps improve your pets' behavior.

I had to have my darling doggie put to sleep last year. She was 15 years old. She had gone completely blind, had joint problems that made it hard for her to walk or stand, and she was in constant pain. It was one of the toughest decisions I have ever made. It broke my heart to euphanise her, but it was what was best for her. I couldn't bear to see her suffer anymore, and I know it was in her best interest to have her put to sleep. We cremated her and have her up on the bookshelf.

I never could it to my own pets, but ironically I had to do it to others as my work...Sometimes its better for the animal, as in not to let it suffer...

Yes I have had dying pets euthanized more than once. I think that nature is sometimes very unkind and if a pet is in pain, I am not going to let them suffer. I wouldn't want to either if I was in that situation.
