My dog is driving me nuts!

I have two dogs. I have a puppy who just turned a year and an older dog that will be four in April. My puppy, Rusty, loves to be outside. He will beg to go outside and when I let him into the backyard he hangs out and has a great time out there. My older dog, Roxy, begs to go out and then sits at the door and whines and scratches on the door. She always follows Rusty out too and then wants to come back in thirty seconds later. Ugh! I am sick of letting her in and out all day long. What about your dogs? Do they prefer being outside or inside? What are they doing to drive you crazy today?

Mine have a locking dog door. Once we let them in for the evening they go in & out as they pleas until we put them out again before bed.

I wish! We have a sliding glass door and to buy one of those inserts for our back door, it would be a couple hundred dollars. Not something we can afford right now. Maybe one day though!

HI. Well your not alone on this one, I have 2 dogs, Thunder 9 months old, and Jake 4 months old. Thunder always is in and out, he is shepherd/husky. Of course the little guy Jake will want to go out with Thunder every time. The one thing I am glad about it they both stay out and play in the yard, but Thunder will want to go out and if I leave him out, and Jake stays in, well there is the thing that drives me nuts, Thunder will want to come back in just to get Jake to go out with him. I i don't leave him back out, he will look at me and whine and whine.

That's weird, my two are the exact opposite! My puppy cannot do anything without Roxy. He follows her everywhere and wants her to do everything he does.

If you try putting toys, bones, or chew treats outside, Rusty may stay out longer. I had to do that for my dogs. However now, they are not allowed outside unless they are leashed and I am with them..... Good luck!

My dog does that sometimes too. some days he will go out and play and play and not ewant to come back in for a while. Then there are other days, where he will beg to go out and then sit at the door and every so often he will jump up and peck at the door with his toenails wanting back in. He wants in and out alot alot of times. Drives me crazy too.

I'm glad to know I'm not alone! I don't think Roxy has ever wanted to be outside, she is always begging to come right back in.

My dog usually stays out for awhile when he goes out. He does like to go in and out alot though. He's the most likely to stay outside when the weather is good. if it is inclement in anyway he does not want to be outside. i can't really say I blame him for that. I do seem to spend alot of time letting him in and out though.

Oh yeah, Roxy refuses to even step outside if it is raining or muddy outside. She will hold it all day until she absolutely has to go. Rusty doesn't mind and would trudge around in the mud all day long.

Well I have a small dog, he sure drives me crazy, he cries all day to eat...everytime I nibble something he wants some of mine and does it everytime someone is eating. He eats too much and I hate giving him too much food, but he cries so much that I give up and give him some from our food. He also goes in and out from the balcony and pass half day opening and closing the door, they sure makes you crazy sometimes.

good thing i have 2 small dogs. max a 2year old shih tzu and einsteing a mini schnauzer turning 1 in march. we live in a condo and good thing they have a lot of space to play around! i guess einstein is more mischevious chewing any interesting thing he could see. broken lipsticks, brushes, even tearing the remote control not to mention some stuffed animals! max likes outdoors more. when we leave from work there are days max runs after the door and we end up chasing him by the floor's elevator lobby! he knows he'll be sent inside so we have to chase him coz he just won't come near us! we both love them though. and because their ages are so near they still like to play with each other so i guess they keep each other company. they sleep also at the same time. they like snuggling to us which makes all their faults forgotten.
