So, everyone has heard those wives tales of sure fire ways to predict a baby's gender. I sure heard my share when I was pregnant with my first. Everyone was convinced it was a little boy because I was carrying high and didn't have any morning sickness. And... it turned out to be a girl! I haven't heard any guesses with this. What are some wives tales you have heard? To you believe them? Do you have a sure fire method of guessing the gender?

One that i believed was if you crave cheese and meat then its a boy. I was pregnant with a boy. The whole time i wanted bologna sandwiches and cheese curls. LOL!

How funny! I crave carbs and ice cream. What do you think that means?

Here we had the needle and thread. Place it over the palm or belly. If the needle swings back and forth it is a boy and a circle is a girl, I think? or the other way around, I can't remember. I also heard of how we carried them tale too. Another was that when you are pregnant with girls you are worn out but glow after birth. When you have boys you glow during pregnancy and worn out afterwards. The nurse in the hospital with my second child said that I was having a boy because a girl wouldn't put me through this much pain. LOL All I know is that I was wrong for each of my three pregnancies and my sister was right each time.

I haven't heard of either of those and both sound very interesting. Isn't it weird the things people come up? I wonder where those originated from. Thank you for sharing.

I heard my fair share of them also. They used a pencil with a string tied to the end of it and it all depends on which way the pencil spins as to what gender your baby was going to be. They also used to say that carrying high or low would predict it also. I do not have any sure fire methods.

Yes, I have heard both of those. I have never tried the pencil method though.
