Active vs. passive voice. / myLot

Some try to make arguments for using passive voice. I think it's weak writing 95 percent of the time. I blame newspapers and television media for using passive voice often, without caring.

I agree...passive voice is weak writing. There are times when a few passive sentances slip into my writing, but on the whole, I try to use only an active voice. I have it set up on my Word program to check for passive sentances. Active word usage makes the writing stronger and crisper.

I think it is best to use both, and with Active to becareful of how far you take it so you are not looking like a bad guy in the act. I really haven't had much to protest against in my life. Good luck.
