Messages from the movies

Sometimes there are good messages in films. But life these days are tough. So many people don't look for the message. Just for a chance to escape the every day problems for a little while. It isn't until they see a movie later maybe for a second time they see a message.

There are alot of messages that we absorb from movies, some of them being directly and some in subtle ways. While the ones that you have mentioned is very true there are a lot of others like the value of the human life, responsibility,courage and so on. At the same time we have to be careful on the corrruption of our mind that some of the movies also tend to bring about in terms of negative influences. Each culture has its own sets of values and movies tend to make us sometimes question them and move away from them. I can think of a lot of movies which have given me various messages from the clasic war movies, the old love stories, the ones which have shown human struggle and even the comical ones for that matter.

There are times when we can only realize the real message of the movie when we have watched it a couple of times... like in the case of forrest gump... it is not just about the life of Forrest... but the the other major and minor characters as well... This is why i prefer to watch some good movies over and over again... and everytime i do that... i discover something new...

Every time I watched a film, I always think of the great messages the movie is trying to tell the viewers. I don't watch a movie just because I like the performers or just winding up with troubles but because of the message and the importance of the film. Braveheart for example talks about freedom and mercy, the oppression of the elite and privilege to the commoners tells a lot that each person must fight for their rights and freedom. I like also the message of Forrest Gump, where Tom Hanks's character battles for his self-acceptance and confidence.Titanic is all about fighting for genuine love that sacrificing and unconditional love still exist in this world of make-believe.

To me, all movies usually have an underlining message that you have to look between the lines to see. By what happens in the first fifteen minutes, I can guess how the movie is going to end. A vicarious learning experience for the viewer.
