How do you like your steak?

I am usually a chicken lover, but occasionally I eat a good steak that just melts in my mouth. If all steaks were like that, well I'd probably eat steak more often, but the difficulty with steak is they always ask how you want it cooked. I like a little pink in the middle, but I'm afraid of bacteria... so I ALWAYS order my steak medium well. Even though I always order it the same way it comes out different every time. Sometimes still mooing, and other times nothing but a piece of charcoal, so how do you like your steak?

I like a little pink in mine. My step father knows how to cook it this way and he does it great. At A1 sauce and you got it going on.

I like mine grilled usually outdoors on the barbecue. I also like to add steak sauce. My favorite is A1. I also like to cook mine medium well. I dont like my meat to be too pink. I used to like my steaks well done but if you order them that way in a restuarant they usually come charred. I dont like my steak to be charred.

Hey glords! I with you! I like my steak medium, but pink not too done! And you are right, every place makes medium different. I like it so that it is soft and melts in your mouth too! Sometimes it depends on the cut of meat too. I happen to love steak and even when I try to make it I also either over cook or under cook it! My boyfriend doesn't like steak too much and likes it done, but soft! That is almost impossible to do!

Hello, I take my steak medium with a little bit of pink. I used to take it medium rare but have since changed my tastes. That's funny "still mooing" and have eaten it that way. Have to put on the mushrooms to finish it off, yum.

I've had food issues in the past where I've gotten VERY sick when the meat wasn't cooked enough to kill all the bacteria, so I always eat mine medium well also. Before, I like it medium rare . . . no more! I can't stand it well-done because it's too dry for my taste.

I agree completely... but sometimes the restaurant thinks I must like that way since I asked for medium well... its so hard to get a good steak.

I don't eat meat but I do serve it to my sons and partner. I remember always cooking it medium rare, where it looked brown on the outside and pink on the inside with a bit or bloody juice. However that was probably a good ten years ago. Now it is at lease medium well to well done. Though much of the meat that is cook is wild like deer or moose, I still rather them be fully cooked. The boys seem to like bull sauce for dipping the steak in.

I do not eat steak, my husband does. I mostly eat chicken. My husband is a stea, lover. He can eat steak everyday, just like I eat chicken. He likes his steak medium rare. I usually cook his steak at home, when we go out he seldom will order steak because it is never cooked right. We usually order seafood when we go out to eat.

YUM... I love to go out for seafood as well. Seafood and sushi are my favorites for restaurants. I like a good steak now and again but everyday would kill me... MEN...go figure?

I like it well done. I don't want it rare ...juicy..lol...I am well aware of the complications that half-cooked meat could do to your health, so I avoid them. There are certain microorganisms that are found in muscle tissues, and I don't want to take that chance. Cheers and happy mylotting.

I used to order mine really well done as I don't like to see anything red or pink in my meat but a server recommended I try the medium well a few years ago and since then, I have never looked back. I like it juicy and still tender and knowing that it has been cooked for a while. Yummy steak! With Bacon!

Ewww I hate when the steak is mooing. But look at the bright side, what a time saver, you just open the steak and drop it on the plate.

I'm pretty sure if the beef is 125 degrees it's fine which works out to medium rare. I live in florida and the difference between steaks from PUBLIX to WIN DIXIE is amazing. WIN-DIXIE HAS CATTLE RANCHES ON THE EAST COAST OF FLORIDA ALL ALONG RT.95 THEIR STEAKS JUST MELT IN YOUR MOUTH, NOW PUBLIX I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THEY GET THEIR BEEF FROM BUT IT'S ALWAY'S CHEWIE AND TUFF, SOME RIB EYE'S ARE OK ON THE GRILL THOUGH IF YOU GET THEM AT THAT EXACT TIME, NO, THEIR ALWAYS TUFF. I AM SO SICK OF CHICKEN WE HAVE IT ALL SUMMER ON THE GRILL AND SINCE WE GRILL ALL YEAR ROUND WE HAVE IT ALOT, BUT COOKING A GOOD STEAK MEDIUM WELL IS JUST OBSENE YOU NEED THAT LITTLE PINK TO GET THE RIGHT TASTE OF BEEF, SHAME ON YOU, YOU MIGHT AS WELL JUST EAT BEEF JERKY. AND IF YOUR PAYING GOOD MONEY TO EAT OUT AND THEY BRING YOU A STEAK NOT THEY WAY YOU ORDERED IT, SEND IT BACK, I DO IT ALL THE TIME AND I LET THEM KNOW I'M NOT BEING A PAIN BUT IF MY STEAK ISN'T DONE RIGHT DON'T EVEN BRING IT TO THE TABLE AND WHEN I SEND IT BACK I CUT A PEICE OUT TO MAKE SURE THEY GIVE ME A NEW ONE, OH YEAH I LIKE MY STEAK. ---BUON APPETITO

aren't you afraid they might spit on your food when you send it back? Anyhow, I'm glad to know that med. rare is safe. That's good information. I didn't know that. Thanks.

I order it medium well. Most of the time it comes back with just a small amount of pink, and it is still juicy and tender. It seems when I order it well done, it comes back kind of burnt. My dad likes it medium well, but if it is too pink, he sends it back. He hates to do that, but he can't stand the thought of it being too pink. It grosses him out.

I used to always get my steak well done too because of fear of bacteria...however, a less cooked steak is much more tender and juicier so now I go with Medium...and yes its usually a different shade of medium each time... Im wondering why do some restaurants cook the same steak absolutely tender and others are like shoe leather for the same steak...They should either know how to cook or not. OK , now I am thinking of a juicy beef tenderloin but at about $18 a pound, I think it will stay in the store for now!!

I like my steak cooked medium rare. We use a cool meat thermometer that we have to make sure that it is cooked safely enough, but still medium rare with a little pink left. Throw some seasoning on it, and it's ready to eat!

that's a good idea. I've never used a thermometer on a steak.
