Are you an artist?

If you are an artist, what type of art do you do? I usually love to draw and paint but I enjoy writing too. Have you made money from some of your creations... do you actually do it for a living?

I've done some drawings and paintings in the past. But, my favorite art form...and some people probably wouldn't consider it as such...is model building. I've been building models since I was 5 or 6. Most people think of it as just a hobby but it can certainly be an art form in it's own right. Check out my mylot profile page and you will see a couple of military models that I have built.

Thank you. I spent about a year on each model. They were completely unassembled and unpainted. And both models have extra details that didn't come in the kit such as the sandbags...which are handmade...and both have been "weathered" which refers to the use of creative painting and detailing to give that "used" look.

Yeah, I've never really considered it to be an art form, but if you can put some of your own taste to pleasure the eye then, of course! I'll check out your work, thanks!

Yes, I have made money from my art. I like to draw this and that. I've been told countless times that I should do tattoos. I can draw different styles. Whatever someone wants, I can draw it. Do I do it for a living??... Never looked at it like that, I just see it as a hobbie.

What is stopping you from doing tattoos? That would make you a lot of good bucks. But I prefer to do my art as a hobby too. Thanks for sharing.

I actually do different types of art. The main type is acting. I'm currently studying drama at university. This the type of art that I love best and the most. I'm also a writer. I've been writing since I was in my early teens. It's only recently that I've begun to post some of my writing work online. I also enjoy photography. I've taken many dance classes as well. i'd have to say that I'm an artist, creating many different types of art.

I am always inspired by anyone who can stand on stage and express. I have stage fright and find it very courageous. Thanks for expressing!

I'm kind of into all forms of art but I think that writing is my favorite style of art. Whether it be writing stories, music, songs, or poems I just really like the way I can paint a picture with words rather then images. I'm rather interested in all forms of art though and I really would like to learn how to do special effects for like movies or something like that and I would also like to make an art form from technology.

I'm a mixed media artist and love being creative as often as I possibly can. I write about mixed media arts for suite101.com on a monthly basis, and I used to create pieces to sell on etsy and ebay. It's been awhile since I've made anything to sell, though, because it's been pretty busy around here. It's a goal, though!

What types of mediums do you mix? I'm thinking of starting to sell some of my things also, but there is a lot of things I need to take care of at the moment also. Which ones worked better for you from etsy and ebay?

I draw and paint, and I also make photomanupulations and cards. In January this year I had my first exhibition, and I sold some paintings and some photomanipulations. Some of my paintings are abstract and others and a mixture of paint and paper. I love painting, but at the exhibition I discovered that my photomanipulations were more popular than my paintings. I sold the first photomanipulations a few hours after I opened the exhibtion and I was very surpriced and happy. I also sold some paintings, but people were generally more interested in my photomanipulations.

Im an oil painter. I like the whole impresstionist art. The colors and technique of Monet and such just inspire me. :P Right now though, me and my girlfriend and writing a childrens book so i guess you can say im becoming an illistrator. so to sum it up, my type of art is impressionism and drawing.
