Have you ever found yourself in a vehicle accident? Who was found to be at fault, you or the othe driver? Who do you feel was at fault, if anyone at all? I got into an accident earlier this week. The roads were very icy, and I slid right through the intersection. The other car came out of nowhere, and we collided. Thankfully, no one was hurt, and the damage was pretty minor. I don't feel that either of us was at fault because of the road conditions. The weather had been crappy for a few days, and the city had not cleaned the roads or put any salt or gravel out.

In your situation, I would say no one was at fault. The insurance companies sees it differently. They always say someone had to be at fault. I was in a car accident once, and when I asked the insurance person, what about the no fault law, he said, there is no such thing, each party is a particular percent at fault. I was in a car accident, I was making a turn at an amber blinking light. I stopped and looked in all directions before I turned. A car came speeding out of nowhere and hit me broadside. They said it was my fault because I was making a turn, and partially the other persons fault because they should have seen me turning and should have slowed down.

It sounds like it should have been totally the other driver's fault!!

My brother with his wwife and four other friends went for holiday near rhodes island and got hit by a car that jumped the signal. it just slammed on the side where his wife was sitting and though I never went to see thewm being a different country ,only saw its photos, they say they had to ct the car to take out his wife and they both had rib fractures and collapsed lungs. it was just by quick action and pure luck that their lives were saved. That was a very scary time for all of us here. He stayed with his friend there after the discharge from the hospital and a court case was also fought on their behalf and finally they got some money for trauma and damages too. I always thank God for bringing them safely back to India.

People running red lights cause a lot of fatal accidents. They are very fortunate to be alive. Being hit in the side like that is a horrible accident to be in.

Yes I did met an accident some 6 or 7 years ago.. I believe.. It was a rainy day. I was on bike with my father driving and brohter sitting in front and my mother at the back. As it was a rainy day so the roads were pathetic and ofcourse we were in a village!! Suddenly this BIG pig appeared in front of us from the bushes!! And my father lost the balance.. and BOOM!! There I was hanging upside down wathcing my father rolling down towards the river Worry not the river was a shallow one!! and my bother..? oh he already reacher there!! I wasn't able to find my mother because I was little busy hanging upside down trying to free my leg and I wasn't able to turn my head. It was not a very big accident as the soil was soft so no body got hurt. They just got dirty. But I did get a little scratch on my leg.

ha ha ... I ran away... He could have thought of that..But the pig was way to big to get handled by a single man!!

Typo mistake. * "There I was hanging upside down watching my father.." * "My brother he already reached there."

I assume that the pig was just fine?? I am surprised that your father didn't decide to butcher it!

Yikes! That is scary! I'm glad no one was hurt! The last accident I was in I wasn't driving, I was just a passenger. The driver was making a right turn on a red light. She looked and didn't see any cars coming, so she made the turn... only to see a car coming towards us pretty fast over a hill! The driver was busy watching the other car to make sure it didn't hit us, and pulled over into what she thought was another lane... and drove straight into a telephone pole. She totaled her car, but luckily neither of us were seriously injured.

I screamed! It was very scary! I'm actually still pretty traumatized by it! That was almost 4 years ago, and I still get very nervous when I'm a passenger in a car! Before the accident I was fine, but ever since I get very scared whenever someone else is driving! It just makes me uneasy not having control.

That would be so scary. If I had been in the passenger seat, rather than being the one who was driving, I am not sure how I would have reacted. Especially if I hit a telephone poll!

I have only been in one wreck in my short three years of driving. I was driving on a very hilly road and it was slightly raining. The person in front of me didn't signal for a turn until after he slamed on his brakes. Luckily I noticed and stopped in time. Unluckly the person behind didn't notice and hit me. To make it even worse the wreck totalled my car. The worst thing... it was my boyfriend! Now everytime I get in the car with him im anxious and I hate when he follows me. But neither one of us were hurt so it did not turn out horrible. Good luck with getting your car fixed!

In my defense your tail lights were just so hot I couldn't help my self but follow too closely!! And i think it was raining more than just slightly but I can't remember too much. And your car was not hard to total!

LOL!! I can't help but laugh at this situation! I am sorry that you wrecked your car, but I think you will both agree that at least you can look back and laugh about it a little now!

By the way, I am not laughing about the accident, I am laughing about the "defense".

I've been in a few minor ones due to weather etc. And, I was in a major one back in '94. Seven cars and two semi trucks in a pile up on the interstate. My van and one semi ended up in the median. When it was all over I realized my van was still running. Not knowing how bad the damage was I shut it off quickly. Luckily for me. Because we learned later the gas tank had ruptured and gas was leaking out everywhere. Surprisingly no one was seriously injured. Several of us had whiplash, and I was taken to the hospital. But there were no serious injuries considering how bad the damage was.

I think I would have a heart attack on the spot if I went through an accident like that. Thankfully, none of you were seriously injured. That really could have been a horrible situation.

The last accident i got into some woman was at fault. SHe went to turn to late and pulled out in front of me. It was raining so my brakes wouldn't catch. The sad thing is i had just replaced the transmission and the car was totalled. I never cried over a car before that day. It was a great car and if i ever can get the same one i will.

I understand that. My Mom was recently in an accident. She was side-swiped by some guy on the road, and it totaled her car. We both really loved that car too.

yep-yep many times before, when i was in senior high school. sometime it was my fault n sometime their. but usually im the one who got the blame and should pay for the accident ufff..coz no matter how hard i tried to explain the situation, a car still can't win a motorcylce, know what i mean ? coz car is bigger, so they will always blame the car coz of hitted the other vehicles. but, alhamdulillah..i'm safe now, and im not asking for another accident coz i might need the money for something else important, not to fix the car.

Not to mention I am sure that your insurance rates are sky high. Especially if you have been in many accidents.
