Ok to start out 3 years ago my son started school ok he has asthma really bad they were exspecting him to walk a pretty far way to school and home again which he missed alot of days of school over this because I would be on my way walking him cause I dont have a car and he would have an attack and I would have to carry him back home cause he was on just a breathing machine at the time I fought for many months to get a school bus to pick him up and I won the second year of school same thing no bus had to fight with the school board to get a ride on the school bus same thing this year well now the school bus thing is out of the way thank god ! But I feel the days he missed due to the fact her could not walk due to his health should be excused since they found in my favor after all the paper from the doctors saying it was to far for him to walk and such. And when he misses days do to him being sick and such they request a hand written note from me which dose not make him excused why waste the paper his doctor is really fed up as well because the school wants me to take my son to the doctor everytime he has a runny nose that is just crazy I am starting to think that since that is an upper class school and well we are not upper class they just do not want my son there they are really picky about the clothes he wears and such I sent him to school with a pair of jeans on that had a hole in the knee about the size of a nickel and they called me to bring him another pair of jean and I told them no he came home with a pair of gray sweats on and I asked him why and he said they made him change and they took his pants ! i as like WTH! I called the school and they said they threw them away! well any ideals on how to deal with this school because I am at my wits end!!!!

I have a friend who is an Educational Advocate. She steps in when the parents are at end of their rope to help with the situation. You can look up in the phone books or even on the web to see if there are any in your area. Hope that helps.

Have you contacted the district office, or the state education commission? Ask the doctor if he knows of a group that could help you or if he has any connections that you could call. This does seem extreme. I hope you can get some answers.

If possible check to see if maybe there are any charter schools in the area that you would qualify to enroll him. I am not sure if any of them have busses or not though. Also if this is a public School they cannot be doing things like throwing away a child's clothing. I have one time had my oldest daughter's school make her change her shirt. her father sent her to school in a sleevelss shirt which was against the rules. However they put it into a bag and sent it home with her, the same as they did if she wet herself in Kindergarten. Public schools are required to treat everyone equally. Also if you feel they are not you can take it to the school district leaders. I'm afraid those are really my only ideas as I already intend to check into charter schools for my three that are too little for school now.
