Being a cat lover, I have had many experiences where my cats have helped someone in my household. My father has always been a black sheep of sorts and whenever he comes over I have one cat that just adores him. He has started to stop by more often just to see the cat and get the unconditional attention he craves! I also have one that loves to be laughed at. If she feels tension she will start dragging toys around, flipping in weird positions and doing about anything to make you laugh!

Pets can be great for all types of emotions. They have a calming effect on people. Just petting an animal for a lenghth of time can greatly reduce stress. Pets can even help you heal after major surgeries and illnesses. Studies have been done on the effect pets have in a persons emotional and physical well being. I love my pets and they are always there to pick me up after a down day.
