Am i the only one that has noticed that when it comes to earning on this site

that the people that say "OH no you cant make any money here! you cant make X amount of money per day! ETC ETC" are the people WITH NO POINTS!!! i think the most points i have seen with a person that has posted complaining about not being able to earn anything was 1,000 and thats it!! and one of their complaints was that they had been here like a year or something.. if you have been here a year.. and only have 1,000 points then your NOT active enough to be making any money.. there fore that is why you ARE NOT making any money..
you have to work at it to earn.. there is no magic number of post equaling X amount of money.. mylot has made it clear that they will not say what equals what so to say that your limited on making X amount per point or per day is not even possible!!
if you want to earn you need to post, and post something worth replying to.. you need referrals.. you need to have friends that are regular good friends that reply to their friends.. you need to reply to other people to help them out so they return the favor.. you need to tag well and put things in the correct and popular interest and you need to not break any rules to where your posts get deleted..
the only limits on earning are the ones you put on yourself.. i find it highly annoying that there are so many people poo-pooing mylot and getting newbies all turned off when the newbies should look around and see that the people complaining may not have many points or may not have been here long or have been here forever and have barely any points compared to what they could have if they were MILDLY active..
ok rant over with.. happy mylotting and happy EARNING!!

I've been on here just a few days but I can tell that if you put in your time, you can pull out money.
In the US if you earn .33 cents a day, you can make the $10 pay out a month. That's $120 a year. I made .20 not even knowing that yesterday and I was just boppin' around getting a feel for the place.
I can see that if you have no drive to post or respond, you won't earn.
I can see asking questions. I'm still a little unclear on things around here (like the points and if you get points or cents for blogging) but I am fully giving things a chance.
You rant well... and as a newbie let me thank you for letting us know that they are full of it.

Here's the answer to the points - you get an additional point for each new response, which is either a discussion you start or a response you post to someone else's discussion. When you comment under a response, that doesn't count, but I do think any response or comment you make does figure into the total you could earn.
Anyway, that is why everybody has a different number in parentheses after their user name. Welcome to mylot!

you dont earn when you blog here but you can earn with pictures if people comment on your pictures.. and unlike posts i heard that blogs have to be approved before they show up which is why i dont blog here.. i dont want to have to worry about approval lol.. i rather be elsewhere and not worry about speaking my mind about anything

Yeah, Ive read a bit of discussions like that.
I've only been here about a week, and I think I am doing pretty good. But I understand in order for me to get the payout, I have to be active, atleast everyday. If these people tried coming on and posting maybe 20 responses, and made a few discussions of their own, then they would realize it's not that hard.
Anyway, have a great day.

not to mention that if you are having fun on here you half way forget about the money and make more than if you are obsessed with it.. i joined to make money but found myself having more fun than anything and also found myself doing well earning wise.. im thinking the people may not really enjoy the site and there fore it feels like more of a chore or something.. but even if you hate it here you still could do good if you try..

I personally feel that there is no real way anyone here could have said this any better than the way you did here. I definately agree that people do need to be active in here to earn $$ here. No, you will not make as much as you can working for someone else, but many of us easily reach payout and continue to do as well. So hopefully some of the complainers will come in and read this discussion and learn what it takes in time to earn in here as well.

AND all the complainers really need to look at the fact that you need to work smart, not necessarily HARD. Any wise and creative person can get 8 hours of work done in 4-6 hours instead if they cut out all the crap that causes most people to waste time and have to spend 8 hours doing it lol.
For instance, I know some people who spend hours and hours cleaning their homes... come on people, it does not take freaking HOURS to vacuum and mop, wipe down things, clean bathrooms, and put away things like jackets, shoes, toss old mail, and get dishes in the dishwasher and turned on. Even if you have a big house and a bunch of kids, maintenance (if you do it every day) takes but 20 minutes several times a day. If you can't tell, I hate cleaning, so I try to stay on top of it.
I also know some people who spend more time getting their desk ORGANIZED than actually working, so by the time they get started, it's BEEN two hours and nothing is completed.
Priorities!! LOL! Come up with good topics to discuss, or jump into discussions with quality responses. Ask questions of people to keep the ball rolling. Make friends! Friends will be interested in YOU, not just your discussions.

Part of the problem I think is that a certain element of members think they will be paid for basically nothing. They start endless discussions, one or two liners, with limited appeal to the other members and expect to be paid for it. They are also the ones who only respond with the one or two lines as well and really do not contribute much to the discussions.
There is no way that anyone can earn a living wage from myLot, not unless they have a large number of active referrals who post quality discussions and responses. If that were to happen, then maybe they might get a reasonable amount of earnings each moth but the number that would apply to would be very limited I expect.
My earnings fluctuate with the time that I have available to post here on myLot and there have been many months when I have not been active at all. Those months I have not reached payout and have only earned cents which is all that I would expect as well.
Then of course you have those members who start discussions on how you can earn all this money on other sites. Those discussions do seem to attract a lot of responses and most of them are wanting to know more and how they can join this other site etc. A matter of days later the next lot of discussions come in on how the new site is a scam etc. Solely for the free entertainment, there is some value in those discussions because it is the same people over and over again who start and respond to them. Then myLiot deletes all those discussions.

Yes it is strange in some ways what some people do. I think that if I was in the position where my discussions were continually being deleted, I would have to take a good hard look at what I was doing wrong. The last thing I would do is start yet another discussion asking "why are they deleting my discussions?". But then I do not think I will make my fortune here on myLot and have never expected to either so that does make a difference I expect.
The other thing is that there are some good members who take the time to respond and warn that the person is viiolating the rules and their discussion will probably end up being deleted. Even that does not stop some of those who are stil wanting to make their fortune NOW, TODAY!

It would really bother me to have multiple discussions deleted over and over, I don't know why people post things that are two lines, illegible or unreadable (language issues?) or discussions which spiral down into madness because people come in and start ranting and screaming at each other about the content of the original post or badmouth each other because they don't like people's opinions.
I feel that the guidelines here are pretty straightforward and fair, and it's also true that you can't get something for nothing. If you give just a LITTLE of yourself, you will get rewarded in kind.

yeah its not like mylot can equal pay in a job but some people act like you cant even reach payout each month if you slave away and i dont know what they are doing wrong.. they are prob the ones that post 20 discussions a day and mylot ends up deleting 19 of them because they are crap or against the rules etc.. then they post on why did it get deleted which gets deleted.. its insane

I totally agree with you! In order to make money on here you really have to write a lot and participate a lot! Also, 3 line posts don't cut it either, although, that is something that has never been an issue for me! When I was most active, last summer I made over $30 in a month, and most of that was without a referral, I referred my mom in late July so I made a tiny bit from what she did, but most of it was on my own. It is totally possible to make 1.25-1.60 a day, even without referrals. But you have to be very active, and write good, and good length posts, like this yours for example, yours in a great length, and well written, on the other hand, I have noticed that the complainers tend to be the people who post like 50 one or 2 line discussions at a time and then complain that they are only making like 10 cents or something.
Since late in the summer I started just not having the motivation to post so much, and from August to October I only made a little over $10.00, and since my last payout-- the October one, I've only made $1.63, because I just haven't gotten back into it, especially because I didn't get my new laptop till early December, and before that I was using a laptop that would cut off with no warning! So a lot of things really messed up my activity. So it's true, you have to post to make money! When I read people say they've been here a year and never made payout, or only made it once I have a hard time believing they could be very active or write quality posts, since I have made over $40 dollars since the end of June, got pay out twice, and most of that time haven't been very active since August! I'm still trying to get back into the routine, and I know when I do--I will start seeing my balance go up daily, and hopefully come March, I will have qualified to get my payout through Feb!
Anyway, great to see that you are still around and posting! How have you been?

They're the ones who got fooled on another site and now they're blurting out their frustrations here in myLot. They're thinking ahead that this site couldn't make them earn knowing that they didn't even try or are not trying. In my experience, this is the only site which pays well as far as the paysites i've joined are concerned. It's really pretty easy to earn here but at first i was struggling. That's how it's supposed to be. No pain, no gain.

oh yeah thats true i have seen that a lot too grrr.. i was with this other huge site (that ended up paying but like not worth the time you put into it.. like over 6 months to make payout type deal and payout was the same amount) and everyone plugged everything else and i was new to trying to make money online so i fell for a lot of them and i learned quick that most of it was scams and other peoples greed and lying i took for honesty so i got signed up to a ton of stuff and then it all fell through and ended up screwing me over with.. but because of the site being so slow at earnings everyone was falling for that whole thing of "this is sooo much faster!" yeah fast as hell if you never wanna cash out lol

YOu are right in your observations that some people think that earning is an easy process. I agree with you that one needs to write some quality posts and discussions to earn and there should always be positive thinking on members part. I buy your argument that when newbies read such kind of discouraging discussions, they just get put off and leave the site. One needs to be active with some determination and intent to earn few cents.

Oh I am SO tired of negative people. I know that times are hard and the economy sucks and everybody hates the government and everything is too expensive, and you can't live on minimum wage and 'you can't make money here'... LMAO!
I make money here every month It is a nice little 'extra' for me and I enjoy making it. I'm fairly active and I have at least one active referral, in fact she has more 'points' than I do! I'm not sure if she has time to post more discussions, answer more discussions, both.... but I am still pretty happy with how I do here.
For those people who have no confidence in their own abilities (because that's wht it is) or can't see anything positive about life, I have made something like $3 in a day before. That's not what I'd do on an AVERAGE day but it CAN be done. I really have to laugh at people who say it can't because then that means that payment was a figment of my imagination.
I will admit that I didn't join here the first time I heard about it, simply because I heard there was a lot of drama and fools and tools and trolls and whatnot. That is something that surrounds any forum or online social community, but it doesn't affect the site as much as some folks think it does. You can both avoid it and ignore it if you try.
My suggestion to newbies here is to talk to people who have been here awhile, and don't listen to the complainers. It takes awhile to get into a routine here and to work into your own 'niche'. Make sure you keep it fun, if it isn't fun then what you earn won't be worth it to you. Don't think of this as a job, this isn't somewhere you can make 5K a month lol. If it was, nobody here would have a real job, would they?

i know!! i am so sick of negative people too!! the world has always sucked so its not like we need to be reminded.. i have to laugh at people that say im negative when i look around and see the people that ARE! im a realist.. i refuse to believe the sun will shine with no rain every day but apparently that makes me negative.. i wonder what they think the really negative people are like??
yeah i cant TELL you how many people on here have accused me of lying when it comes to my earnings.. i too have pulled in 3 a day but not often.. im happy with a dollar a day lol.. some one on page one says i sound like an "employee of mylot" um where is my paycheck then??? lol..
yeah drama and trolls are everywhere and i dont see why people are leaving because of it.. i know i was playing on soapnet's boards for awhile but it got so bad i left but here its not even close to being bad!! oh well bigger cut for us in the end

You are perfectly right friend..I too get angry at times how people having only 70-90 posts complain of making nothing at myLot..The time I have spent here have been good and helped me to get genuine information that got me earnings from other sites..I was lucky to have older members point me to the right direction when I joined the site..Activity and quality is what matters the most here..I will obviously be happy when I have 1000 posts here cause then it will be a prove to all the wonderful friends and time I have spent here..Thank you all and have a nice day!

I am new here and I can say that this is going to be my next hobby in my hobbies list. I really find mylot very interesting as they say that it is similar to blogging but this, you can earn money along the way. This looks like a very good deal to me. I do blog sometimes but, I do not earn anything. Once I found out about MyLot, I was really interested to join them and see what I can accomplish this time. I am actually not worrying about the amount of money I am going to earn as long as I earn something for my hard work that I put in. I do have a lot of things to share with people, if they are willing to respond with me when I ask question. That is why I came here in the first place. I just started and earned few cents so far. I hope I can give some quality answers that really help people and earn something along the way. I never complaint at all and hope to achieve in the future. So I am Happily Mylotting away and same to you too.

I have seen a lot of discussions of this nature and it can be pretty annoying. I also however have seen posts from newbies who think that they are going to earn a living on this site, and there are people who just sort of bring them back down to reality. Reality is that this is a great site. It does pay, and the people here seem to be some of the best people I have run into on the net. If people focus more on the social aspect of this site as opposed to the earning aspect I believe that they would have a more fulfilling mylot experience. And of course the money will follow.

I have noticed that trend with the complainers but really do not pay those post much attention. If I see one that the poster seems to be genuinely concerned or needs advice then I may respond but other than that those discussions do not attract me.
One warning I remember clearly for online earning jobs is that if the sum to be earned seems too much then chances are it is not real. Ligitimate online jobs are pretty hard to find and many have had to pay te price of finding them.
Mylot is among the most ligit sites for earning online as far as I have seen.

It`s not verry hard to post nad post, when you`ll know that you`ll make that for money, and you`ll talk about your problems, about anything. Very good topic!

i think some newbies get discouraged also because even with the people with hundreds of friends you will still post something ONCE in awhile that will get NOTHING reply wise.. its like envitable! so they see their posts not doing good and quit.. when after you have gotten a lot of friends and if you tag well people will run across your posts MONTHS later. i had one post that didnt have ONE reply till SIX months later!! then it started getting several lol.. i was like what the heck!??!? so if they dont pick up fast today you never know when they will and earn you some then.. best thing is to post about all kinds of things since some topics do better than others..
