I'm raising five - my nine year old boy, my eight year old step-daughter, my seven year old son, my fifteen year old niece, and my sixteen year old nephew. My niece and nephew are expected to be here until they graduate from high school, and the court paperwork should be finalized next week. It's a lot of work, but I feel it's worth every single effort.

i have only 1 toddler, 3 years old but he is definitely a handful and i find it difficult around the house without a nanny. and right now, i am 8 months pregnant with my 2nd baby, good thing it's girl this time, i expect it to be much behaved than a boy.

I am raising just two. My daughters 7 and 2. I would love to be raising more but apparently the time is not right so I will just wait.
Well done you on caring for your niece and nephew. You are right about it being a lot of work, but it sure is worth it.
I wish you and your family all the best

I have two, and sometime two to many. I love my kids but they sure can drive me up that wall. I always thought when i was younger I wanted to have a big family, as I grew up in. ( youngest of 6) But I am done having them, maybe later adoption could be an option.
I think anyone who has the love to share with children should be able to, because all children need a good loving home to grow up in. Keep up doing what your doing, your niece and nephew will never forget what you did for them. Smiles :)

I am raising three, all girls. Somedays they are their own reward, somedays I think wow, three, was I crazy.....Don't get me wrong I wouldn't do anything different if I got to do it over again. I can't even imagine how people you see on tv with eight or more ever manage. I saw a story on the news about a single mother of six who had eight more....I had to rewind the tv and listen again. I'm married and have family that will pitch in close by and sometimes wonder how we manage. Kids are worth every second of time we spend raising them, they are our true legacy but I do think that it does indeed take a village to raise a child
