I go to the library on a regular basis but just to check out book.. I hadn't even thought of checking out a movie, I will have to remember that the next time I go.. That is a neat idea..

I get net flix and love them I do not drive and it costs me $4 to get to the library and back. I get about 6 movies a week so I feel I get my monies worth on next flix.

I am a cheapskate my friend, I prefer to wait and watch films on Sky, although having said that now I don't have access to Sky, I generally watch my dvds in my collection which is not that big now since I thinned it out. I always had bad luck when I used to rent videos from the library, they were always jumpy and never played properly, it wasn't my video either, I guess they had been borrowed so often that they were not good quality, I guess it might be better with dvds, however I do find that even dvds tend to jump around and not as reliable either. They are also not that cheap to rent out either, sometimes you can actually buy the dvd cheaper, brand new! I tend to spend more time on the computer than watching movies now.

I wish we had the same facilities here in my country. Our libraries don't rent out movies and even if they did, there would be a charge for it. They charge a yearly membership fee or in some cases, they charge for each book borrowed. I rent my movies from the local video rental shop. It costs €4.50 to rent a movie for two nights but if I am late returning it, then they charge me another €4.50.

Hi eaforeman6! You are lucky that your library have these movies available for you to rent for free. here in my local area, libraries don't have such movies to lend or rent. We usually go to DVD shops to rent movies and of course, it cost some money.
Take care and have a great day!

We use to rent before as well but when we got our satellite cable, we stopped and our player becomes useless now. We don’t have a free library here, haven’t seen one ever, but we do have video rental store with an affordable price. We get to choose and return it on time or else we get to fine.

Yes, I have once. But my mom used to rent them all the time. She was an English professor not too long ago, and the library was full of videos that were relevant to her class. It was great because it was free. I think I don't rent as much at the library because my sister and brother-in-law have so many movies that they can loan me.

Our local library has an impressive set of movies, and one year, I rented a bunch of them for my kids around Thanksgiving time. I wanted to give them a really nice time and went all out for that. They had a good time and everything too. You can get them there for $1 a week. Not bad.

I used to do that with the kids....when they were home. That's how I got them to watch all the classics like West Side story....sound of music. Now I don't have alot of time to sit and watch movies...but it's a very good way to get them! And free of charge!

I've always wanted to do this, but my library doesn't have any good movies. I've been to some that do, but do go often enough to watch and return them on time.
