All I can say is DON'T GET OLD! As soon as I hit 60 it seems like my whole body started breaking down. I have everything from osteoporosis to Acid Reflux. Yes, it sux getting old! The worst thing I'm dealing with right now is the Acid Reflux which I'm not even sure that's what the problem is until I start going through tests next month. It seems like I'm at the hospital for tests a couple of times a month and it's getting tiresome!!!What is your biggest health concern right now? Is it being treated and you can deal with it or not?

I am half-way to 60. I do no have a serious health concern. My father-in-law is 62. He is an early riser, does pranayama (breathing exercises) and goes for morning and evening walk. This way he is keeping himself fit.

My husband's arthritis is so bad that he has no strength in his hands. He has to have me pull him up of bed in the morning, and he has no balance because of his stroke so he needs a walker, and his legs will sometimes go back. Me I have diabetes, and I am forever checking to see if I get any bruises or that my cataracts are going. On top of that, besides the history of diabetes in my family and my being overweight, I had a relative who had kidney disease, so now the doctor tells me that I have to have pills for that. So we have to either, or I have to, walk or take a taxi to get pill refills, or we have to call the pharmacy to bring them over. Yes I did have acid reflux, but I changed my diet a bit and I now have two pillows, one of is that kind "as seen on Tv' and that helped. Oh I can deal with diabetes and high blood pressure, but why is the food that is good for me and will reduce my high blood pressure and my sugar intake cost more than the bad stuff? And why did they not make houses so that you just walk in off the street and not have to climb those outside stairs? I do not mind it, but my husband does.

It is my back. I had a car wreck at 18 that messed up my neck and back. I'm about to turn 28 and I am going to end up having back surgery. My current doctor finally sent me to a surgeon. He just doesn't get the situation. Perhaps because he is the doctor I got when I got on disability. He never saw the X-rays and MRIs, and he didn't care to. Thursday I ended up in the ER because of my back. I couldn't duck my head to get into my car without agony going down my spine. First thing the ER doctor did was poke along my back. He did it very gently but I almost jumped off the table. I hope whatever happens, it is better soon.

I suppose that would have to be my asthma! I have asthma since the age of three and I'm kind of worried that I will be suffering seriously with this come old age. I do my best to try and maintain a healthy lifestyle though. I exercise on a regular basis, about three times per week and I just love cycling. I also have several of those gimicky exercise machines that you sometimes see on the shopping channels! Anyway, I'm hoping that by remaining healthy now and doing the right things I won't start facing serious health problems come old age! It sounds like you are going through quite an experience yourself though. I'm sorry to hear about your osteoporosis, how are you coping with that? Andrew

LOL. You sound like my husband. He says that all of the time. That is a standing joke between us. He says "I wish someone had told me that getting old would be like this..." I remind him that they did, but we were young and not listening. My husband is dealing with what may or may not be acid reflux, diabetes and arthritis. I am dealing with insulin-resistance, arthritis and asthma. So go figure. When you have been healthy all of your life, it sort of takes the wind out of your sail to have to make the rounds with the doctors, especially at first. Once you figure out what is wrong and get your meds adjusted properly you will be fine. The life style change will fall in place because you begin to realize you don't feel good unless you do those things that are right for you - exercise, proper diet, rest and stress relief along with regular visits to the doctor. Good luck and God bless.

Well I actually have 3 issues, the major one is my weight. I have been quite heavy since I was about 13 years old. And Unlike what some people will think or say, this conditions does actually run severe within my family Genetically. My Father, brother, uncle, aunt, & my great mother are also very heavy. Trying to eat well is Not a real problem, god know I drink water like a fish, & I actually do consider myself to be pretyy active, even though I am heavy. But I also seem to have inherited 2 other things, & both I have actually gotten from my mother. See she use to have severe (and I do mean severe...Blood & all..) Ulcers, & she also has a condition with having a bad back. Well being that I am 39 years old, I'm having some serious stomach & back problems, both of wish are bothersome. For my stomach, I take Mallox & a stoch tablet, after seeing what my own mother had to go through for over 20 years, I refuse to end up like her. Luckly my mother is much better, but she did have to endore 2 separate surguries to remove the ulcerated parts of her stomach, & for the back pain, I do try to stretch out & when it's really hurts I will take advil. I may have my father Looks & genes, but inside I am definitely my mother's daughter. Thankyou for posting & have a great week ahead! :D

Actually, Acid reflux isn't an old person's condition.. my friend's baby was diagnosed with acid reflux at the ripe old age of 2 months old.. and she is taking medication daily to relieve it so she can keep her milk down. I guess my biggest health concern at the moment is my gall bladder.. I have to have it removed and I really don't want to have surgery.. I also have a nice kidney disease that was passed down to me from my family, at some point it has turned into kidney failure(beginning stages)... when I was 21 I was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis(I don't drink milk.. yuck!) and my bones are extremely brittle (2 broken legs and two broken wrists prove it!)I also have issues with my back and some mornings I can't even get out of bed, my husband or kid has to help me get up... Aren't ya sorry ya asked now? lol! Oh! I'm 43 and some days I feel like I'm 143! hahaha!

Oh well old age doesnt have to be the start of it I mean my little sister is 21 and suffers with acid reflux and lets not forget all thos epoor little babies with the same thing (my youngest suffered with it badly!!) Im 24 and my biggest health problem would be my kidney condition at the moment it is stable and probably will be for many more years thanks to them catching it early and putting me on medication but it could result in a kindey transplant when im a lot older for now I try not to worry though, then I have severe sciatica still waiting on the cause of that but they think a problem with my spine and a disc. Im partially sighted have been since i was born and its never been too much of a problem but now im finding my vision getting worse and often I cant see things clearly even with my glasses on (and im totally blind in my left eye) and im only 24 lol and as things can happen when im older too well i dread to think how i will feel then I feel like my body is breaking down on me allready!

Oh well it´s not only a matter of age. I am only 28 and I am dealing with a nervous gastrites for over 4 years now. And is just getting worse. When I start to work that all the stress of waking up early getting full buses to go to work my god. Everytime I eat it seems my stomach will explode. I also feel reflux and pain sometimes. My imun system is so weak with all this stress that I got two sore throats one after the other. But what to do people have to work!

Hmm,i think it is my weak lungs. I don't know but i can't hold out my breath as long as back when i was 5 years older. I'm 29 by the way. I think what's making this worse is my allergic rhinitis. I sneeze a lot.

Possible MS but heck it's been years so... My kids have worse issues so I guess their health issues are the biggest I'm dealing with. My 18 month old has had one thing after another since BEFORE he was born. He's trying to make me feel older then you I swear. Lack of sleep makes all the other stuff worse. I get the headaches worse, the body aches worse. Best advice I can give everyone... get some rest.
