I'm an employed person and sometimes I go to the office where I have a set of keys to work in order to make the coming week easier for me. What do you think of this ? Do you give your employer this kind of service ? Do you think your employer deserves this ?

In my opinion and experience, I don't really like to work on Sunday. I consider that the weekends should be spent with family or friends by having some fun. It is the best time to recharge the energy after one-week activity of doing some works. That's way I try to finish my work within 5 days time.

If the situation so warrants that i have to work on sunday then no problem.. I will work.. because my boss does not demand work on all sunday. May be once in a while.. Heeding to the request of the Boss, once in a while like this will soften the Employee- Employer relation ship. But this is my feeling/opinion.
Have a good day.

I do not work on Sundays because of my own religious beliefs. I think you should have one day to rest and since I go to church on Sundays and spend that day with my family, that is when I request that I don't work.

because I work in retail, every day is the same.
so it doesn't matter to me if my days off fall on Sundays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Thursdays, whatever.
all days are the same to me. they all have 24 hours.
because I work variable days, and my partner doesn't work because of his illness, it makes no difference to me which days I actually work on and which I don't.
a day off is a day off, and a work day is a work day.

For me it is not good to work in sunday because, sunday is a family day. But it depends the company policies. But if I were the employer I'll make it sure that sunday is a restday for my workers becuase sunday is a family day for us..

With the recent state of our economy I would consider any job a God send at the moment.
I personally was laid off about a week before Christmas. I'm a single mom and I have two children. Needless to say it was not only a very bleak Christmas, but extremely hard to explain to my children why they got so little and why their friends who's parents still had jobs got so much more.
You say you go into the office on Sunday to make the work week easier for you. This sounds like a personal choice you have made, and it is not mandatory that you work Sundays.
I also think that you are doing yourself more of a service than your employer if it makes your work load easier during the week. On the other hand if your work load is such that you can't possibly handle it during the week don't you think it might be time to speak to your employer about possibly hiring someone new to relieve you of some of that work load?

I dont think sunday is classed as a day off so much anymore with the world becoming more of a 24/7 place its easy to see how working sundays has come about.
I never minded working sundays if it was my turn to work that shift I never ever went in on my days off though unless it was absolutley needed and even then id expect double pay for helping them out, my days off were precious to me and well deserved no employer deserves anything they pay for us to do their work for them thats fine with me but they dont deserve me to go in on what should be my time off and if they wont pay me extra for that then tough they can find some other mug to do it I have bigger priorities at home!

I enjoy working on sundays and taking off on working on sundays. The reason is simple. On sundays my managers and teamleader are taking offs. So i can enjoy in my work place as nobody is there to instruct me. Work load also very less on Sundays. I am getting my offs on week days. Hence i can finish my work which is not possible on Sundays.

When I was working, I did not like working on Sundays, I really had no choice in this because if they said mandatory we would have to work. The job I had, if we worked on Sundays we would get paid double time for that. Anything over 40 hours was considered overtime and Sundays was doubled. I complained at the time because I always said 40 hours was enough for me. Now I am jobless because of cut backs, layoffs, and job closings, I wish I had my job back and any amount of hours would be fine.
