I'm not sure either would really scare me. I haven't ridden on a plane as of yet in my life, though. I'm sure I wouldn't really have a problem with it but hey. It's one of those "you never know" kind of things. I think at first I might be a little jittery when the plane takes off but after it's in the air and upon landing on wherever i'm headed i'm sure it wouldn't bug me. I'm sure between those two choices that most people will probably say the "taking off" part. if that was the case, the landing part would probably be quite comftorable feeling, and a feeling of relief so to speak.

That's exactly how i'm feeling. A little jittery from the beginning then i became relaxed in the middle...

What I hate is taking off, cause of my ears, it's like there are a lot of air inside my ear and I can't hear. So usually I have to eat some candies what is the advice of my friend when boarding a plane. Good night!

You can also pinch and hold your nose then swallow your saliva. It will kind of unclogs your ears.

I ain't scared of either, but I just totally hate the pressure that I can feel through my ear, both during taking off and landing, but worse with landing. And I don't like long hours of flight, only if I can avoid that. Oh well...

Why do you hate longer flights? Scared of the higher chance of crashing the plane? Hehe, just kidding! I'm just playing.

Hello modstar! I don't really think it's scary. But what like what you said, I am more bothered when taking off than landing because if the plane landed, I felt safe.

Hello modstar! Well, if you are the pilot then probably I would be scared from the moment I step off the plane.

Okay which is more difficult: Leaving or being left behind? Take-off is more difficult for me because I know that it's still a long long way to go. However, in landing, even if with all the pressure changes and everything, at least you know you have arrived in one piece.

Wrong landing will give you the experience of the jet grinding itself on the road then crashing in on shanties blowing itself up with you inside it. Burning you to charcoal crisp. Leaving is more difficult, to answer your question hehe...

How about a take-off gone crazy and the same things happen? Lol. Okay, provided that it was all a safe flight, I still would have preferred a good landing over a take-off coz there's more anxiety that goes with it. But that's exactly how fragile we are when traveling. We'll never know what's gonna happen.

Neither bother me to the point of being scared...I actually think of it kind of like an amusement park ride. I think turbulence and flight through a lightening storm are scarier than taking off and landing. I mostly don't like airplane bathrooms and food. I like to fly though, much quicker than driving.

so scary up there? - i think not.let's take a joy ride.
neither the two scares me. i'm more afraid of the thought that the plane would crush down. im pretty sure i'll be caught in the big mouth of whales if that happens. i don't have those ride jitters also. even during my first ride. i remember enjoying the scenery that made me wow and thank GOD how pretty and awesome the earth is! I'm cool, calm and collected inside the plane.

Based on my experience, taking-off and landing feels the same. It's not really scary but I kinda worry about someone doesn't turn off his cell phone or something that affects the radar.

I am not bothered whenever I ride the plane may it be taking or landing. Although when it is about to take off you would really feel the discomfort in the ears but once you get used to it is not bothersome at all. Maybe for first timers it would be a big deal, i mean the eardrums when it feels like it is full of air but when you get used to it then noting to worry. LOL. how about you?

I've read it somewhere here in myLot that the technique is to pinch and hold your nose then swallow your saliva. I should give credit to that user.

Nah, I didn't see taking off or landing as a scare point but I do get scared when the plane takes a turn in the sky, it is like when they don't get a landing permission to the airport and they used to do a 360 degree revolution to the air port. That part is the most scariest one for me, I don't know why but it gives me a feeling that the gate will now get opened and I will fall down to the Earth! LOL

Neither. I've always enjoyed flying, the take off and landing are better than any amusement ride at the park. The only thing that is annoying is if the plane has to be de-iced. They turn off the air conditioning while they're de-icing and it makes me feel claustrophobic. The other annoying thing is the stampede to exit.

I'm just glad we didn't have to undergo de-icing!

I really enjoy flying... When I first took the airplane, I only imagine taking a bus with a very bad engine... Thats it..and I didn't get scared. It was fine plus the view from the top of the clouds was awesome!

oww i can't imagine, but for me, it is more frightening when in the sky rather than taking off or landing, because it really depends on the weather, Action of Him ... to reduce the scare i'm just praying

Well, both! I get nervous when it starts to take off, even more nervous when it takes off and most nervous when it's about to land! I guess, you could say that flying is not my ideal transport for traveling! :)
