My husband and I have had a long four years of stress, tears and a lot of money put into him getting his green card but he finally got it a couple of weeks ago. It came in the mail while he was at work and I hadd een planning for a long time to surprise him when it came. I called one of my friends that is married to my husbands best friend and asked them if they could go out to dinner with us that night. Her husand had also received his greencard about a year ago so they knew what we had been going through and I thought it would be nice to have them there. I told her that my husband had no idea what was going on and asked them please not to say anything to anyone. I was planning on telling my husband over dinner. That night while we were driving to our friends house on of my husbands other friends that lives two states away called him and told him congrats on getting his green card. My friends husband had called his uncle and told him and his uncle had called just about everyone he knew. I was so upset. I wasnt really angry I was just disappointed. We had waited so long for this and we were the ones that had went throught this whole thing together. No one else helped us or anything. I just felt like I should have been the one to tell him. It is a situation that you can only understand if you have been through this long and stressful process before. This was life changing for us! Has someone ever ruined a really big surprise that you had planned?

You are a better person that I. I would have been angry. And couldn't your husband's friend just waited before telling anyone? Like I said, I would have been angry. Simply because you did wait so long, and you were the one to suffer through the waiting with him.

Yes....my son's former girlfriend. One Christmas we planned this theme Christmas for him. I bought him a portable ice house for fishing...the auger and then everyone else bought him the things he needed like a heater etc....well she told him about it before Christmas....I was so excited to have him open his gift....well we were getting ready to open gifts and he walked right to his gifts and opened them....no surprise on his face....about 15 minutes later he was out the door fishing....with his buddies that were already ready! She said she didn't tell him...but I know she did...it was a big disappointment for me.

hi my2boys!
first of all, congratulations that your husband has finally gotten his green card.
second of all, i would really be pissed off when a surprise gets ruined like that. by the way, i think that was real bad of your friend to have told others about it when it was supposed to be a secret to be kept for just a few hours. maybe you have not made yourself really clear? or is this friend a real gossip?
i should reconsider my friendship with these persons considering that they could not keep their mouths shut even for just a few hours.
well, your only consolation is, you got your hubby's green card.
take care and God bless you!
happy mylotting!

I can definitely understand your feelings. In future, whenever you have pleasant surprises for him keep it to yourslef and let him be the first to know. That uncle really messed it up.And this friend's husband -he had to go share it with uncle , aunt, grandmother , grandfather, watchman and pet and what not!!!!!
It wouldhave been highly irritating.
