castle? Do you think that you would like it? How would you decorate it? What do you think it would be like living in a castle?

I have never even dreamed of living in a castle. That I guess is one of the last places I would ever want to live even if I had a staff to keep up with the upkeep of it. A castle to me just seems like it would be cold inside all year round and have that old mildew smell to it. I guess I think of these things because I associate a castle with the very very olden times and made out of rocks/stones.

Dont worry, I would have the staff keep the firplaces burning and always make sure that you were warm. I would also have them serve warm tea so that you would have a nice hot drink.

Then we would have to design a special area just for you. It is wonderful having the windows and the light. I do like the wrap around porch's. You have lovely ideas.

Thank you a bunch but I would much rather for myself have a home with a really big wrap around porch and lots of windows in the house. I would love to have my windows the kind that can be opened up on a beautiful day and on the not so nice days can still have all those windows to let some light in.

I would love to live in a castle if it was heated and cooled properly. I would not like to live in one if it was cold and damp I could not survive.

Only if I could have one of those big drawbridges! That would be ace, and could I have a princess in the tower, just like Rapunzel with her long blonde hair? And crocodiles in the moat surrounding the castle to keep out unwanted guests! Wouldn't have any problem with burglars would you. Castles are cold too and would be ideal in the Summer time as I am sensitive to the heat. I would be next to the ocean and away from everyone, I would be the king and have loyal subjects to look after me and tend to my every need. I would have pictures up of ocean scenes, big banquets that I could invite all my friends too, and dancing afterwards with my own personal orchestra. A harp to be played as I drifted off to sleep. Oh my friend I have enjoyed using my imagination to answer this one, want to come and stay in my castle? You'd be looked after and I'd make sure you'd get a nice mug of hot chocolate brought to you every night. OH and last but not least a nice open fire. Bliss!

I can actualy picture this based on your description. This would be fun to decorate. I would have to serve, chocolate, nuts, and crisp chips for my king. I would have a special velvet robe designed for you and a crown of gold and jewels.....and of course, a thrown, made by the finest designer. We would take walks in the garden, and sip tea by the roses.

You and I both share the same imagination me thinks! Oh and make sure there are plenty of sapphires and rubies on my crown and some wallflowers in the rose garden too, I love their scent and one of those swinging hammocks by the gazebo and a maze that we could get lost in! But have fun and adventure too.

Hi eaforeman6! Oh, I do love to live in a castle. Since I was a little girl, I have always dream of living in a castle and will be just like a princess. I do think that it will be so wonderful and I am sure that all my family and friends will be there to live with me. After all the castle could be very big and I can accommodate all of them. lol.. I am not sure how I will decorate them. I might have an interior decorator to help me on that. lol.. But there will be a lot of furniture and paintings and the banquet table will be very big so we can always have a feast! lol..But thinking about it now, I think it will be very costly to really live in one! Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith

If it was the kind with stone walls, it would probably be cold! But I wouldn't mind as long as I don't have to do the cleaning! Can I have one that's already decorated though?

Why, yes, we would decorate it for you and make sure that the staff kept the fireplaces burning. Not to worry, we would have the staff cater to you and bring you whatever you may need.

I can't even begin to imagine living in a castle.. I believe it would be too cold and too dark and to hard to decorate.. I have enough trouble putting a sofa, table and lamp together to make it look good in my living room, I can imagine the mess I would have decorating a castle.. I have read a few articles about castles and the ones that I read about spoke of it being so hard to heat them, I freeze in the Winter in my little home and it is warm and toasty, I can imagine how cold I would get in a huge castle.. I don't think I would like to live in a castle..

I used to fancy a lot the idea. Until I gave a long thought of how it would be to clean all the windows and all the rooms :D Suddenly living in a castle seemed like a terrible chore. Plus all the renovation, no good heating and little light. So I would say living in a castle might be good, but only if you had also some of your own direct ancestors living there. And you still have their money that is :D

You could always have your Royal subjects to do all the cleaning for you, after all if you lived in a castle you could be a Princess and Princesses never have to clean the windows, that is far beneath them, just stand at the turret and you'd have many princes coming to visit you!
