ComparedBy US rejected my reviews

After waited since December, I finally got the reply from ComparedBy US regarding my 30 over reviews. They rejected my reviews by saying my reviews are not properly sentenced and don't really flow well. They gave me one example of my own review and said the content and experience sharing are good, but the sentences don't flow well and appear fragmented. To be honest, this is the first time I've encountered such a comment. And they actually rejected all 30 over of my reviews, all of them worth USD$ 72.
They said I can modify and submit for another review but failing the second review will make them ban my account altogether.
Sadly, this is not a review site for me and I've decided to give up on it. True, I've spent 2 to 4 days on those reviews but I really doubt I'm going to spend anymore time on it. It's just a waste of time.
By the way, I've received over $100 from Ciao US and over $100 from ReviewStream before without any problem and if you know me in Ciao, I was awarded Premium Fund in 2008. That's why I feel ComparedBy US might be finding excuses to minimize payment to people.

Hi day dreamer. I just receive their e-mail too. They said that majority of my reviews are rejected too. I was disappointed since it took as a long time to write and that's what happened. I write for Ciao and Review Stream too I am on my way to payout at Review Stream, if only I concentrated more on writing at review stream and wrote more content I should have made a lot more. I requested for $43 and thought that they could pay me even half of it but now they won't.

Sorry to know about your incident too. I seriously doubt CBU is doing well now. :)
As for ReviewStream, they only allow payout at $50. It's one of their policies. But rest assure that the payout process is normally done within 3 days. My second payout has been received after only 3 hours upon my request.

They have an email contact which you can find easily on their web site. Just email them using the email address which you've registered and give them your nickname, and of course, tell them you would like to request for the payout. That should be sufficient.

Oh sorry I requested payout from CBU which is worth $43, as for review stream I have made $48 already and waiting for my other reviews to get credited. I trust RS since I know a few mylotters who got paid here already and they told me that you would be able to receive the payment in just a few minutes or a few hours. By the way how can I request payout there?

Try reading your reviews backwards. Start at the end and reread the sentences to the beginning. I hate to see anyone's hard work go to waste. Maybe all it takes is a few tweaks, and a better led in from paragraph to paragraph. At least reading it backwards might help with the flow and fragmentation. Sometimes, it is hard to see the mistakes in our own work. Maybe, have someone else take a look at it. Just don't send it over the web. They did say your personal experience was good. It is hard to take criticism. Just don't get discouraged by one rejection. Many times writers see hundreds of rejections before seeing their work in print. Don't give up writing. It does take practice to perfect any skill.

I am sorry. I did not mean to imply anything about your writing. Unfortunately, I think I was talking more about myself when I read your experience with rejection. Again, I apologize.

No worries sierras, I didn't even take your comment as offensive since I didn't feel it was been targeted at me.

I always check and proofread my reviews before submitting them. It's a must. Maybe because I'm too used to Triond and Helium, and my own personal blog. That's why I know that a writer must always read the end product many times before submitting.

I don't necessarily agree that Comparedby.us is rationalizing - maybe they are being overly harsh, but there are a lot of sites that let people write anything, and perhaps we, as writers, have let our proofreading standards lapse a little.

I do think they are overly harsh. If they can give reviewers a good system to write their reviews, then it'll be good. I really like Ciao's formatting capability since it really improves readability. That's why I've actually read the reviews in Ciao if I were to purchase something, and not from CBU due to the poor readability.

Hmmm...it would definitely be better if they laid out their standards. It doesn't help much to expect people to read their minds.

I tried to check out the link given by them regarding their writing guidelines, but it wasn't there. It was a broken link. Then I replied to their email saying that it's pretty risky for me to submit another time without knowing which to change. They told me, as long as I put efforts in improvising those reviews, it should be fine as the second round of review will not be that strict.

I am also a member of this website. Now I think CBU is likely to be a cheating website. I am already a beginner level there, however, my payment is still pending and I don't know when they can really pay for me. I have waited for a long time. The latest notice from them seems to pay for us before Feb.8th. But I think at that time it will have a new rule and therefore the payment will be delayed again. I don't want to waste my time in this website.
I love China

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. So far, the number of people who have been paid by CBU is really really little.

wow at least they gave you a chance...they did not give me that one either...they just erased all of my contents and did not pay me thed 75 dollars they owed me! I find them very dishonest and very unreliable! Excuse me but by what I read here from you I do not think you need to rephrase your sentences! I think they just find lame excuses not to pay those of us who have a high amount of money due...thats just my idea...I also had good experience with ciao.com btw

The 2nd chance they gave me is pretty subjective and they can just say it's not good enough and reject all the reviews. That's why I requested to have them remove all my reviews in there and cancel my account. I just don't want to commit any more time with CBU. It's better if I spend the time to focus on other more important things and on other review sites which have actually paid me.

I think comparedby is done due to short of funding. I got paid last month but I am still waiting for the examination of my reviews. I give up.
I stick to ciao and Reviewstream instead.

Hi daydreamer20,
Sad to hear that from you.It is a great decision if you are leaving the site already. I am still waiting for the feedback from their site. They say they will pay us by february 10. Hopefully, they will not decline or disapprove my reviews, or less just like you will leave the site. I have also great experience in Ciao wherein I earned around 140 dollars in the site. i was just very sad because my account was blocked, for a reason I do not know. i did not even try to spam the site or copy from other sites. I tried to send an email to them but I did not get any response from them. On the other hand, i am just starting in review stream. It is good to hear that you have gained a lot of money from the site. I will just wait till february 10. If they did not grant my review, I will put them on the scam list sites. thanks for sharing and may you have a great day a ahead!!

Ciao? Hmm, I've never heard of people being banned in Ciao unless they spam. But well, Ciao has removed the earning per review so it's not that profitable anymore.

I do agree with the fact though, that ComparedBy.US are doing their job correctly, by making sure they have good reviews on their website - it shows they care. I'm sorry to hear you have lost out on your reviews, but copy + paste on a website such as dooyoo or Ciao!
By the way, how did you earn $72 from 30 reviews? I thought you could only earn up to $2 for each..?

Sorry for the confusion. It's actually 37 reviews. 35 first opinion and 2 standard $1 review.
It does show that they care, but if they don't provide a good system for reviewers to structure the review properly, it won't help much. I used to submit reviews in paragraphs, but the system does not support that. That's why I tried to correct that by putting in detailed pros and cons, which in the end, don't seem to be well-accepted by CBU.
