I understand that some feel like not making the bed. In my case I do like to make the beds because I feel a sense of completion when I do.
I have heard that statement before about the bed only getting messed up again however I know that the dishes are going to get dirty again but I still try to keep the plates and the like clean so my sink looks clean.
It is just important to me that some chores have been finished before I start my day.

Hi babakelly, I have to make my bed fist thing in the am. It drives me crazy if it is not made. I usually make it before I even get dressed for work. When it is time to wash the bedding, I still make the bed in the morning and when it is time to start the wash, I will go and grab the bedding then. That is when my husband thinks I am a little crazy. He always asks why I make it if I am planning on ashing it later in the day. I just have to.

My fiance and I don't make the bed first thing in the morning but do it before we go to bed. We stay in our room or are in the room for a lot of the day so that's why we don't make our bed right away. Our habit might change once we have real jobs.

I don't make my bed in the morning because I am unable to move, am disabled and my back really hurts all the time. I am lucky if I get help to even change it which nearly kills me when I have to do it.

I make my bed every morning. I use my bed to fold my clothes on so I like a nice clean surface. When I was little I used to battle with my mom about it because I was only gonna mess it up again so what was the point? Now, I have the same debate with my own kids. I guess turn about is fair play!

I make my bed first thing in the morning but not for the usual reasons. I have a cat with allergies and she likes to curl up under the covers if she can get under them. I really don't want her hair and itchy self there. So I have to tuck the covers under the pillows and then wrap the pillows with a blanket to keep her off of them.
Why not lock her out of the room? We have 6 cats. 6 cats at the door yowling and scratching isn't the most pleasant noise in the world. We have a bed for her at the foot of the bed. She will lay there given no other choice.
We don't get a lot of company so I don't have to worry about others seeing the bed. Many people here still believe cats carry deadly diseases. Keeps the in laws out, lol.

I don't make my bed in the morning. Mainly because i dont have time to. THe last thing i do in the morning is wake my son up and dress him then rush out the door. I never have time to do anything between that.

I feel the same. I don't feel good going on with my other chores without fixing my bed. My mother had raised us this way and it became our habit. My sisters' kids are also trained this way. They never get out of their room without making their bed.

HAHA, I never make my bed. I know in a few hours I will be back so why bother. The only time I make it is when I change the sheets....so about once a week I'll make it but then it stays messy until I have to change them again.

Every morning I get up get my kids dressed and sit them down for breakfast and then go in make my bed when my 3 year old son is done eating we go in and make his bed and then onto the crib. All the beds in the house are made with in 30 minutes of being up. People think it is nuts to make the kids bed since they go down for a nap in a few hours. But even when they get up from there naps I remake the beds. I might be wierd but I feel better knowing they are made.

I never make the bed. No one is going to see it and it is not that important in my eyes to make the bed. If someone happens to come over and visit all I do is close the door. It doesnt' bother me at all for the bed not to be made.

I NEVER make my bed. Unless I just cleaned my room, which really is not all that frequent. I have 4 kids and my living room TV is always being used so I spend a lot of time in my bedroom on the bed in the evenings just so I can watch TV.
