I need to edit some images. I know that Adobe Photo shop is the leader in this field and there is no doubt about it. But it is too costly for my purpose. I want to know is there any other image programs which are available for free which may not be so good as Photoshop? Please help.

JIMP could do it rigthly for you.Its far better than Photoshop. It has many other added advantages with it.But you just need some photo editing skills to do it.If you get used to JIMP ,then you will really love it.I started doing things with before a couple of months and I am doing professional quality editing now...try it out...

Ummm I never heard about GIMP. I like Photoshop but I just downloaded it from the net and it is now expired. How to get it back and stay forever?

hi friend i think coral draw software is next best to photo shop and it is available for free..it has similar features for editing of images like photo shop..so try for it..if you are not an computer artist then try Microsoft picture manager for small correction of images and it is simple..

I use paint.net myself. Completely free (although they appreciation donations) and there are a lot of plug-ins available now that allow you much of the same functionality as Photo Shop. I'm happy with it as it suits my purposes for the time being. Like you, I can't consider purchasing Photo Shop at this point.

I would recommend the GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) it is "somewhat" similar to PhotoShop. It is open source and free. Works very well for most purposes. I have used it for several of years and I love it. PhotoShop is alot better of course, but for a free program, it is outstanding!

I would definitely recommend Ifran View.
It is a very fast, small, compact and innovative graphic viewer and editor plus its free. The program is easy enough for beginners, but has powerful tools the pros appreciate. http://www.irfanview.com/
