500rs($10) laptop a dream come true?

Come on you didn`t really belive that a $10 laptop was even remotely possible, did you?? Yeah didn`t think so-and unsurprisingly, that project sponsered by the Indian government to develop a low-cost laptop actually has a price tag of not$100 but $10.You really think its going to be a good enough in as low price as $10??

In my opinion, I don't think that they can actually make a laptop for only $10. It is almost impossible. But $100 sounds way more believable. Hope this helps, happy Lotting!

Well,Sachin I think you are unaware of it.It is not a laptop.It is just a mass storage deice of 2GB capacity. It will work only when it is connected to a laptop or personal computer.Even the 2GB pen drive cost half a price less nowadays. I think by keeping in mind of the forthcoming elections, government have introduced this one. Moreover their is no description about the operating system too. I think it will be linux rather than Windows XP because the license of XP itself costs more than this laptop cost.
The main advantage is that it comes out with Wi-fi which can be used for internet connection by the students.The government will give Rs.2.5 lakh per institution for 10Kbps internet connection.
