Important to you to be happy?

Is it more important for you to be happy than otherwise wealthy? I would love to have the money that I need to pay for the things I would like and the things that I would like to purchase for my family, especially my little boy. But I figure that if we are happy and together then that is all that really matters.

Happiness seems to be the one thing that every wants and it seems to be so difficult to get it. We are happy one moment and the next we are unhappy. Wealth can make a poor man happy but he becomes miserable after a while. I wonder why. Cheers!!

I would rather be happy because you can be happy and poor, happy and money, and you can be happy with the small things in life when you aren't wealthy because you are forced to enjoy them. I don't think the wealthy really appreciates some of the small things like taking a hike in the woods and have a picnic as a date or some other things...Sure they can appreciate it, but I don't know many that do. Money cannot buy happiness...

The only way to be happy is to earn it, but that is not the only way to get wealthy. A lot of people don't earn their wealth i.e inheritance, scam, and therefore cannot be happy. Because it is harder to achieve, it is much more important to me. For most people to achieve happiness, this means working hard and earning the money that can provide them with a decent lifestyle. With this said, I have a hard time believing anyone who say's they would be happy with just the love of their family in a life povery. To me that means that you would accept and be contented with the fact that a life of poverty is you can earn and are therefore worth to the world. That's just my take on it.

I am not happy because I do not have enough money to live on, but I do not need a lot of money just a normal amount, I would rather be happy with a poor man than unhappy with a rich one

Even though I wish I would never have to worry about money again for the rest of my life, I believe it's more important to be happy. Some say money will make people happy and, in some cases, I tend to believe this. However, it doesn't seem like a realistic goal in comparison to happiness.

Money can't buy what really matters. You can buy your child everything he wants but you can't buy love and put it in his eyes when he looks at your. You can buy your husband anything but can't buy his loyalty when he sticks with you in hard times. Everyone would like to be physically comfortable and have a few luxuries. But I would much rather live modestly or even in poverty and have the love of my family and children than live a rich lifestyle and not be able to have the things that money can't buy. You can always get money one way or another but you can't buy the really important things in life.

I would love to have as much money as possible. But I also know that money doesn't always bring happiness. I'd rather just always be happy.
