A Real Major Been An Idiot Moment With Me

Uh, mmm....as you can see by some miracle I'm back here and I want to thank MyLot for allowing me to come back with my account here...thank you ever! Okay here's the deal. Many of my friends knew what happened to me. Now I like to think I'm a rational, clear thinking person, but yes I have my moments where I'm irrational, hasty, stupid, dumb, moronic, and a complete idiot...feel free to throw in any more descriptive adjectives here...LOL. As many of my friends know due to a whole bunch of circumstances in a tizzy fit I closed out my account..yes, dumb, dumb, dumb. One reason was to really concentrate on my writing. Then there were other circumstances of which I won't get into. About an hour after I left here I'm thinking to myself, WTF did I do that for? So right away I wrote here asking if I could have my account back again, and I was to write four times. I didn't hear anything back. Then today when I went to my emails I'm scratching my head as I had a number of email notices from friends here that they started a discussion and I'm like huh? I hadn't gotten anything in a week. So when I randomly clicked on one of the discussions I nearly fell off my chair...I was baccckkkkk!! Yahoooooooooo! I was starting to think about opening a new account but didn't dare just in case this account came back...I kept thinking how really dumb of me to have closed my account in the first place..all that work involved for over two years. So I can't express how happy I am to be back as that familiar crystal gazing black kitty...I also want to thank my friends who may have been writing in my behalf also for trying to get me back here. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Okay...confession time what major BEEN AN IDIOT episode have you done? Did you go out with you left shoe on your right and you right shoe on your left....did you recently put your foot in your mouth? Did you do something rash in a tizzy fit and later regret it? Have you ever made a homemade cake and forgot to put the oven on? Have you ever poured water into that cup of noodles of yours then realize you didn't boil the water? What has been your recent been an idiot thing you've done. Glad to be back!!

I am so glad you are back! I had something boil over and put out the flame on my gas range and wondered why what I was trying to cook wasn't cooking - then... I smelled GAS!

Oh I've had that happen to me. Also, sometimes if I have the gas on too low it goes out by itself at the slightest breeze coming from the window

I don't think I've ever had the gas that low, I tend to drown the flame.

Hi Pye, It's great to see you back. The last crazy thing I did...I went to get the clothes out of the dryer to find I never turned it on. The clothes were sitting there all wet. I was so angry because I was running late and needed a pair of jeans that I thought was drying.

I had to go through my closet really fast. I found something but it wasn't what I wanted to wear. I don't think that will happen again.

Oh, my 'been an idiot moment'...... I used to have a habit of putting on one shoe from two different pairs to see which one looked better with my outfit and then forgetting to switch to the pair that I chose. Yes, far more often than I care to remember I have arrived at work wearing two different shoes!!

I am glad you are back. I wanted time away from mylot but I never thought about closing my account I am just not spending a lot of time here right now. Even so I missed you and I am glad you have not gone for good. As for being an idiot, I do that all the time. Forget to light the gas and then wonder why dinner is not cooking, burn myself because I am just not thinking clearly, hmm all sorts of things.

I'm famous for not putting the gas on for cooking. I'll put a saucepan with peeled potatoes to boil them, then walk out and start work on the computer again. I sometimes won't notice for awhile, like some twenty minutes later when I go back into the kitchen again to check to see how my food is uh...cooking..LOL --when of course it hasn't

I do not mind forgetting to turn it on so much as when I forget that I have something cooking and it boils dry and burns. I ruined a batch of boiled eggs like that once. I cannot trust my memory any more. Now if I cook anything I must use a timer and make sure I stay within hearing range of the timer.

Your back. Yea! I've done all those things. The timer goes off and the food hasn't cooked. Gee it helps to turn the oven on; or I poor cold water on my coffee and take a sip. Euw its cold. You name it, I've done it.

I'm the opposite...often I have my dinner cooking while working in front of my computer and actually forget I've got something cooking, until I smell the delightful smell of something.....burning!

We sure missed you and the Pyekitten! Welcome back. There was much speculation that you would regret your decision and return eventually. Nobody thought it would be this soon though. Color me pleasantly surprised. I have a tendency to say the wrong thing at the wrong time to the wrong person when I am at work. Then I have to do some major damage control. I must learn to let my brain think things through before they come floating out of my mouth. Hugs!

Yes I was "absent" from here a week, but it sure seemed a lot longer to me. I'm actually going to take the day/night off from my article writing to catch up here...boy, have a LOT to catch up on. I'm always shooting off my mouth at the wrong time myself and will say things I regret later to, so it's not only you..think we all do that at times

Hey pye! I'm glad to see that you got your old account back and you didn't have to start fresh with a new one. Whoo hoo! I'm sure I've done plenty of idiotic things before, I just don't remember. Okay, one thing I've done was put something on the stove to cook, but forgot to turn the stove on. D'oh! LOL Welcome back!!!

I've done that as well...One time I peeled some potatoes to boil them up to make mashed potatoes..so peeled them put them in the water in a saucepan and walked out the kitchen. About fifteen minutes later I went back into the kitchen only to realize...I didn't put the gas on under the saucepan

Ah, Welcome back, Pye! Now the world can keep rotating and all will be well in the world once more! If I started thinking about the idiotic things I've done lately they would fill a book - trouble is, my memory's so shot I can't remember them! The other day though, I saw my husband driving towards me on the other side of the road, and waved at him as he went past. Then I realised I was actually driving our car myself ... so it couldn't have been him! What a nuffnuff - but par for the course these days! Anyway, welcome back - hope you get to 10,000 posts real soon!

LOL--I sometimes do that myself. I'm walking along the street and see a friend of mine coming toward me I haven't seen in a long time. I race up to "my friend" greeting them, and realize...oops..it's a complete stranger and then wonder why they are giving me a strange look...

For two years I have worked for the agency that I still work for, and have driven random people random places, with no trouble whatsoever. Now, for the last month, I manage, two or three times a week to miss a location I am headed for, drive right past the driveway. I cannot believe it. Twice today. Nearly three times. Lucky I am off tomorrow.

I'm always jumping in without reading the small print. Or I will set up an account to change the password then when I login instead of pushing the "login" button, I push the "cannot remember password " button...that causes big problems with your account by the way because 1 thing seems to cancel out the other. I get myself tied up in knots on-line one way or another. I should read the small print and not be so ready to trust people. No great drama but I've made friends with people who turned out not to be friends at all.

I sometimes neglect to read the small print especially with signing up with different places and not fully reading the terms of service part...like so many are a mile long so I skip it ...it cost me once. Sometime ago I got a strange charge on my phone bill....it must have been one of those survey things I filled out...so each month I was getting charges to my phone bill and wondering why, when I called the phone company AND the number of the company charging me they both said the same thing, that I must have signed up for something and part of the terms was to be charged with one's phone bill for "service"---it got straightened out, but you better believe I read terms of service now no matter how long it is

Welcome back dear, I about fell out of my chair seeing a discussion started by you in my inbox. I wrote to a mutual friend of ours and told here and also told her I've got to get back and see if I saw what I thought I saw. Yes, here you are. I'm so glad and you have been missed here. Now to the discission, I can't tell you how many times I walk out of the house get in my truck and realize that I have the house phone to my ear talking to someone and not my cell phone. I've even gotten down the road and realized it when the phone started getting fuzzy, lol.

I am guessing no. He doesn't want to see or talk to me. He decided he was divorcing me the second he walked out the door in November. I don't why, and I have stopped trying to understand. I am just trying to accept it as one of those things that happen, learn from it, and get on with my life.

People keep telling me when a door closes, a window opens, my response has been--"I am tired of crawling through windows." But everyone is probably right, now I can persue my career instead of following him around, and I might actually find a man who gives a d**n about me. He certainly didn't which is now all too clear looking back. I am currently in the process of applying for some Community College teaching positions. Hopefully I can snag one of them, cause a full time job would be very welcome right now. Glad to see you back on mylot, btw.

Hi there Pye and Welcome back! I'm so glad you changed your mind. I was angry that you left because of that bully and I was going to e-mail you and bully you into coming back. Now I have to request you as a friend again because just yesterday I went thru all my friends and deleted a bunch of inactive ones. Your page was blank and I sadly deleted you and felt horrible doing it. I guess that was one of my many "been an idiot" moments. I tend to have those sort of moments very regularly.

I remember your last post before "signing off". I didn't respond, didn't know what to say, didn't think it right to beg you to stay because you had your reasons, etc. But, I also had a feeling this day would come, although I didn't realize you'd actually closed your account, that you'd feel the need to be among friends again, so I simply waited, knowing that at some point, you would reappear, and when you did, you'd be ready to continue. We all need a break, a time out from many different things. Some take longer, some make the break permanent, others say it many times, but still can't quite get there. I didn't see you as a permanent departer. You enjoy this outlet so very much, despite the frustrations and the stalkers. I'm glad to see you back! I enjoy reading, and sometimes getting lost within, your lengthy discussions - sometimes you get on a tangent and suddenly detour in the middle only to segue back into it, but I'm not always certain how one trip related to the other. But, I enjoy trying to figure it out! Glad to see ya, kiddo!! And your little cat, too!!
