Women are considered to be not as good as men when it comes to driving. Do you think it is true? I personally am a horrible driver and the dents in the family car are all made by me. My friends also call me a "dent-ist" because I make lots of dents in the car and wouldn't like it too much when I drive and say men are better at driving. What do you think? Are men better drivers than women?

Maybe yes, but there's also lots of women who are drive better than other men. Not all men are better than women in driving, it depends on the training and experience in driving. My brother in law, drive terrible, i can say he needs to go back to driving lesson lolz.
Happy posting

I am a woman and I'm an excellent driver. I am a better driver than a lot of the men I know but I'm also a better driver than ALL the women I know. I think it has more to do with personality and maturity than anything. I know that if you are easily nervous or not confident then you aren't going to be as good of a driver. I don't think it has to do with man vs. woman.

I didn't mean that I'm a better driver than you are. I was saying that from the people I have ridden with/met/seen drive I am a better driver than them. I am not better than my Dad but I am my mom. My Dad taught me how to drive so I think that has a lot to do with it.

In the U.S., I think women are considered better drivers than men. They get better insurance rates....especially in the 18-24 age range

I think it has more to do with the person's personality than if they are a man or a women. My husband was always getting tickets or getting in fender benders and so far I haven't. I don't really think it makes me a better driver then him. I just think I pay more attention and have more patience driving then he does. I do know plenty of men who also display this kind of patience and attention when driving so I don't think this is gender based.

Well, there are a lot of women who are worse drivers than men, but there are plenty of men in this world are bad drivers as well.

I think yes. Men are more active and better drivers, though more reckless than women most of the times especially when drunk.
Making dents into your car applies to both men and women. I for one could not help it but sometimes make some dents and scratches, I'm just happy I never did a major damage in my more less 2 years driving.

This is another one of those black and white questions that has a grey answer. I think it depends on the person. I have been in two car accidents (I'm a girl) in my life while I was driving. I have gotten one ticket, which was for the first accident that I was in. I have been pulled over once and let off with a warning. My husband has been in at least 3 or 4 accidents where the car was totaled...most of them were before I met him 8 years ago, but one was last October. He has also had probably 6 or 7 tickets for speeding in the last 8 years...not counting times he was pulled over and talked his way out of a ticket. He says he's a good driver because he has good reflexes and he always criticizes me for driving "slow" (aka...the speed limit). Who's the better driver?

Not necessarily true. I drive a lot, in the city as well as out-of-town and have encountered male drivers who are terrible - those who drive like tortoises and hog the roads, or overtake without proper signals, or watching out for other vehicles. On the whole, I think women drivers are more cautious. Even in heavy traffic condition, women drivers can manage just as well as men.

I don't think all men are better drivers than women.. acutally, it's really up to the person if he/she wanted to become the best driver in town.. you need to have the skills and of course, discipline.. my sister in law is a great driver... and yes, my older brother too.. both of them are defensive drivers.. learning defensive driving is a must as it can save time, life and money.. i'd like to learn how to drive but i don't have enough courage to do it..

I don't think men are better drivers than women. I just think that women tend to make a bigger deal out of accidents then the men do. I backed into a car a month or two ago and to me it was a huge deal. To calm me down my boyfriend told me about the 3 fender benders he had in the past month. Before that night he had never told me about any of it.

I don't think a gender can really be better than another when it comes to something like driving, you have to judge individuals against each other, not a whole general population of women against men. I have never had an accident while driving, and I am a woman, my mother has not as well, but my brothers are full grown men that have been driving many years as well, and they have wrecked quite a few cars. Car insurance for men is higher in America, and women do not pay as much, so the statistics show that men have more problems if you look at what insurance companies are doing. I on the other hand just think that there are good drivers and bad drivers, and there is no gender better than the other at the task.

I think it has more to do with people's personality than gener. There are unstable men freak out too when they drive so I think the statement of "Men are better driver" is not necessarily true.

I believe so, as far as driving skills are concerned, but in a broad sense, a good driver must be good at observing the traffic regulations, and in that case, men are more likely to be violators. And men are not necessarily good in finding the direction, which is also a condition for good drivers.
