hello mylotters, here I am again asking your opinion. Again your opinion is very highly valued. I want to know if you are afraid of getting old? If so, what do you do to hide away the age showing on the body? If not, why not?

Never fear growing old... its a privilege denied to many I dont like the thought of losing my independence, mobility or dignity but a) it could happen at any age & b) it doesn't happen to everyone when they get older. There is a sense of freedom that comes with age - I find that people are far more tolerant of my eccentricities now

I'm not afraid of getting old. Age happens to everybody (if we're lucky enough!) In the old days, elders were respected for the knowledge they learned along the way, and if we're wise, we can learn a lot from them. I suppose lots of people would consider me old...I'm almost 60 lol. I don't dye my hair. I wouldn't consider a face-lift even if I needed one. I choose to go on my path to old age as God made me. I don't think it's bad for others to do that, it's just not something I choose for myself. Age happens, and I hope to age gracefully.

Hi Joyfulone! I love hearing from people that they are happy of what they are and what they have become. I don't have anything against people who try to hide their age. To be honest, I admire older people of their wisdom. I also hope for you to age gracefully and I think you will. Have a nice day and stay happy always!

Hehehe, thanks jcay :-) I call my attitude 'the Popeye philosophy' (remember Popeye, from the comics?) He was always saying "I yam what I yam...and that's all that I yam' hahaha. You have a nice day too :-)

I never feared getting old. And now that I am old I know there never was anything to fear. While it is true that I have health problems, I still find a lot of joy in living. Some of it is my memories, where I have been, what I have done, and of course the people who have been in my life. Part of the joy is doing the things I love to do, knit, sew, read. A huge part of my joy is sharing these years with my husband of 44 years. Hold all of my life together is my faith in God. I wish for each and every one of you this sort of contentment and joy.

I am really happy reading your response. Knowing that you still enjoy the things that you love to do and value things that matter most in life. I gather that Harvey must be the name of your husband and you must be a proud wife to him. I wish me and my husband will stay together like you have been. Thanks also for wishing us contentment and joy. Have a nice day! And say hi to Harvey for me!
