I plan to get a digital camera which is in the long zoom category. I have actually been looking into it for months now and waiting for a suitable time and enough expenditure to put into it as well. My eyes are on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28. I find that it has all the qualities I need and it better than it's competitors in this category. It's more for family use as well as to use it for an enthusiast taste. Any of you out there using this digital camera or have an opinion on other camera's of this choice and taste which you find is really good..:)

This is my dream camera at the moment, I've always used 35mm slr's and have been looking for a good digital.
According to reviews the Leica lens is a really good performer and the zoom range means never having to change lenses as on an slr, plus of course there's no danger of getting dust on the sensor.
I think it's a really good, cheaper alternative to a digital slr.

Exactly...based on the specifications it feels like a DSLR built into a not-so-compact digital camera..but it has everything from manual to auto settings with a 18x zoom lens. Thanks for your info; I didn't know about the dust not harming the sensor... :)
