Having the "gift" Reality or Hogwash?

So many people believe there are no such things as Psychics, Tarot reading, Mediums, and even ghost and spirits. They say it's all just evil it's The devil's way of working through some people. Why is it hard to believe that God could give someone this "gift"? I believe anyone can have the "gift"! Even in the later years some things become more clear, somethings going on inside that's allowing them to feel and even see things others can't. But why now? Like myself 46 and being able to see and feel things that I could not pick up on before is truly strange although I've always had a strong pull toward this aspect of spiritualism. I may have always had it but maybe before I was not ready or would not be able to understand it. Has anyone else ran into this.

Why is it hard to believe that God could give someone this "gift"? I dont believe its a gift and I certainly dont believe its from any higher power...We all have the answers to everything inside us, its just that we (as of yet) are incapable of accessing it I guess you could say...As for the things you mentioned we all have those things in us too and as children we are very in tune but as we get older sadly our elders taint us for lack of a better way of putting it and we are raised to believe such things are our imagination and just us being silly children so we "lose" it (more like turn it off really)..I have ALWAYS been more in tune then many ppl around me and I went through the whole "turn it off" thing when I was younger..more like "muting" it really..I mean I was lucky enough to ahve never FULLY turned it off...then in my 20s I got back to me and turned it back on again.....My daughter is particularly in touch with that part of herself and being the person that i am I encourage it rather than force her to suppress it...

It is sortof a matter of debate, it seems. It all goes back to the questions about the nature of the soul and evolution and all that. I don't see why it can't be from a deity/higher power...or a true gift, instead of simply an extra thing someone can do naturally. But we all have our own theories and what makes the most sense to us. It's just that people always wanna put things in nice neat little boxes under lables and categorization. It's the person, that matters, isn't it? It's not so much where it comes from, or why it's there, it's the people who have it and exploring a person's full potential (which could mean exploring that whole "destiny" concept throughout one's life, if a person feels it's necessary).

I hesitate to call people's beliefs hogwash, regardless of what it is. Even things like...pastafarianism, or discordians -- who I view with great fondness for their uniqueness. Personally? I believe that anyone can have an extrasensory gift. WHether it's hereditary, learned, or some strange evolution of the soul...I believe it's very possible. The most real ones, are the people who have it but hardly talk about it, after all. It seems to run in my family. Not like one set of abilities, it runs the gamut, but within my own immediate family there's alot of prophetic dreams, my grandma can bend metal (never trying, and she's just a bitty thing), my great Uncle I believe, was a magnet for electricity (he was struck by lightning five times and had a variety of other "accidents" that didn't kill him). We've always been a bit different, but it's never really much mattered 'cause it's not very obvious. I talk about it the most, because I like to learn new things, and discussing stuff like this with people opens up a better understanding of the world around me -- and the people who live in it with me.

I do believe in it, due to my own experiences in life. but as I neither believe in the Devil, nor in the Christians God, I have no fears relating to which one it comes from. it comes from inside me. and inside anyone else that has these skills. a lot of people professing these skills in the public eye are fakes, but there are many too who are not.

I've had a couple situations happen where I wondered if I was psychic or was it just a concidence. I do believe that there are people out there that can predict things.
